Abstract:
A device for filtering ballast water which performs filtering by installing a filter element having a conical shape in a concentric circle direction inside the device for filtering ballast water that accommodates a filter portion, and introducing ballast water from a lower end of the device for filtering and passing same through the filter element inside the device for filtering, and for discharging backwash water containing foreign substances that are inside a filter by way of differential pressure, which is created by a driving portion communicating with a filter element by rotating a suction portion that is located on a lower end of the device for filtering. Particularly, the present invention relates to a high-efficiency candle-type device for filtering ballast water having a high-density filter structure, wherein the driving portion is positioned on a lower portion of a housing so that more filter elements can be accommodated inside the housing.

In particular, the present invention relates to a candle-type device for filtering ballast water, wherein the driving portion is positioned on a lower portion of the housing so that more filter elements can be accommodated inside the housing.
Abstract:
A device for filtering treating ballast water by way of a filtering method, and more particularly, to a compact and operability-enhancing multicage-type device for filtering ballast water, which distributes a lower portion of the device for filtering a discharge portion for discharging foreign substances after backwashing a filter and a backwash line, among features that are concentrated at an upper portion of the device for filtering, and communicates discharge tubes of each filtering unit in a single line, by considering the unique installation environment of the device for filtering that is coupled to a ship, thereby simplifying structure, reducing space required for installing the device for filtering in the upper portion of the device for filtering, allowing efficient maintenance by integrating foreign substance discharge and back pressure maintenance of each of the filtering units.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein is an apparatus for sterilizing ballast water. Ultraviolet lamps are installed in a body, and a cross-section of the body that is perpendicular to the orientation of the ultraviolet lamps is rectangular. The ultraviolet lamps are arranged at regular intervals in the rectangular cross-section of the body so that the number of ultraviolet lamps arranged per a unit cross-sectional area can be minimized. Thereby, the power consumption of the apparatus and the space required for installation thereof can be reduced. Furthermore, lines, each of which includes ultraviolet lamps arranged in a row perpendicular to the direction of the flow of ballast water, are arranged in the rectangular cross-section of the body. The ultraviolet lamps of each line are disposed between the ultraviolet lamps of the preceding or following line. Thus, ballast water can be prevented from being discharged out of the body without colliding with any ultraviolet lamp.

Abstract:
Disclosed herein is an ultraviolet sterilizer having a watertight function. The ultraviolet sterilizer includes a housing and an ultraviolet sterilization unit. The housing has an inlet through which ballast water is drawn into the housing, and an outlet through which the ballast water is discharged from the housing after the ballast water has been sterilized. The ultraviolet sterilization unit is provided in the housing and includes an ultraviolet lamp applying ultraviolet rays to the ballast water to sterilize the ballast water. The ultraviolet sterilizer further includes a cap which supports each of the opposite ends of the ultraviolet sterilization unit and is watertightly coupled to the housing. Thus, even if the ultraviolet sterilization unit is damaged, ballast water is prevented from being drawn into a reception space which contains external devices, and explosive gas which may cause the ultraviolet sterilizer to explode is also prevented from entering the cap.

Abstract:
Disclosed herein is a filtering apparatus for treating ballast water. The apparatus is constructed so that a housing cover plate and an exhaust unit are removably coupled to each other at an upper position of a housing. The exhaust unit includes a base flange on a portion thereof coupled to the housing cover plate and the base flange includes a projecting step that projects to be inserted into a core through hole formed in the housing cover plate. A core serving as a discharge passage of foreign substances includes a shaft coupling unit on a portion thereof coupled to the driving shaft, and is coupled at the shaft coupling unit to the driving shaft via a coupling structure. The outer diameters of the coupling structure and the shaft coupling unit are formed to be smaller than the outer diameter of the core.

Abstract:
A device for filtering for treating ballast water and more particularly, to a multicage-type device for filtering ballast water to prevent back pressure, wherein the multicage-type device for filtering ballast water includes a back pressure prevention tank on a backwash line for backwashing and discharging foreign substances that are inside a filter of the device for filtering, so that backwash water and the foreign substances in the backwash line are preliminarily stored in the back pressure prevention tank thereby preventing increase of back pressure, prevents increase of the back pressure on the backwash line by always maintaining level of water inside the back pressure prevention tank at lower than an inlet port that is connected to the backwash line, and always maintains the level of water at lower than a specific level by artificially discharging the backwash water that is stored inside the tank.
