    摘要: According to one general aspect, a method of using a customer premises equipment (CPE) to represent a mobile station (MS) to a base station (BS) is described. Wherein the CPE and the BS are part of a first wireless network based upon a first networking standard, and the MS and the CPE are part of a second wireless network based upon a second networking standard. The method comprising associating the MS with the CPE. The method further comprising indicating to the BS that the CPE is acting as an agent for the MS on the second wireless network. Also comprising acting as an agent, on the second wireless network, for the MS. And comprising, storing context information related to the MS, wherein the context information includes MS context information related the first network and MS context information related the second network.

    摘要: This invention provides an improved address management scheme in a mobile router (MR) that connects a mobile network into the Internet via an access network. The MR performs neighbor advertisement on behalf of mobile network nodes (MNNs) within the mobile network so that packets directed towards the MNNs are routed correctly to the MR, and then to the corresponding MNN, while maintaining standard address management procedures, such as IPv6 address management procedures, in the access network and in the mobile network.

    摘要: A station of a wireless local area network, the station includes a joining unit configured to join one of a plurality of cliques or to create a new clique, wherein each of the plurality of cliques includes at least one station and wherein each station in a clique can hear all other stations within the clique. The station also includes a communication unit configured to communicate with a server that assigns a unique value to each station in the clique when the station joins the network, wherein the value is used to determine a rank associated with each station within the clique. The server is configured to maintain a system map that defines information associated with each of the plurality of cliques and all of the stations in the network. The station also includes a listening unit configured to listen for a predefined signal such that upon receipt of the predefined signal each station in the clique is configured to begin transmission based on an order determined by a ranking of the stations in the clique.

    摘要: A method of load balancing for packet data flows in a packet data network is provided. According to one embodiment, the method includes the steps of receiving a packet data flow and verifying whether the packet data flow belongs to one of the existing packet data delivery categories. The method also includes the steps of assigning a first delivery path indicator for the packet data delivery category, retrieving load conditions prevailing in the network, and checking whether one of the existing packet data delivery categories conforms to prescribed resource policy rules for one of the existing packet data delivery category. When the step of checking generates a negative result, the method involves the step of assigning an alternative delivery path indicator for the packet data delivery category. The invention also provides a method of categorizing packet data flows as belonging to a certain packet data delivery category.

A service script for a user is loaded in response to the receipt of an incoming message, and it is checked based on a comparison of the loaded service script and the incoming message whether a service is to be triggered.     摘要: In a technique for setting up calls in IP mobile networks, when an application level in a mobile station sends a setup message to set up a multimedia call, before sending such a message over the radio interface, the mobile station performs the appropriate procedures to setup the appropriate bearers over the radio interface and in the network to satisfy the call requirements specified by the application level in the setup message. The technique applies to both mobile originated calls and mobile terminated calls, the called mobile station performing the transport level procedures after having received a setup message and before sending a confirmation/call acceptance message back to the calling party. Furthermore, the allocation of radio resources for PDP contexts that will be used to carry the media of a multimedia IP called is delayed so that no radio resources are allocated to the PDP contexts activated before the call control signaling is exchanged. The radio resources are allocated only when the call signaling has been completed and the called party has accepted the call and indicated the call characteristics that it can support. An indication is forwarded from the SGSN to the GGSN advising that no packets are to be sent on the PDP context because there are no radio resources for the PDP context.
