摘要: A terrestrial high frequency data communication system and method for implementing a pointing algorithm for endpoint nodes are described. The system includes an aggregation node and one or more endpoint nodes. In one example, a pointing direction for an endpoint node is determined based on a number of packet error rate (PER) measurements associated with a high frequency data communication link between the endpoint node and an aggregation node. Preferably, the endpoint node includes a steerable antenna module that includes one or more antennas. The steerable antenna module is configured to receive an azimuth value and an elevation value determined based on PER measurements associated with the high frequency data communication link, and to steer its one or more antennas based on the azimuth value and the elevation value to point to the aggregation node.

A touch screen display presents a user interface that provides information about network conditions and configuration settings and a menu for setting and changing configuration settings. Different versions of the user interface are displayed based on whether a user is in proximity to the device. The user interface includes shapes representing user devices, the visual characteristics of which change based on the current network conditions. A health score, which is an evaluation of network performance based on measurements of aspects of the conditions of the network, is displayed in real time. A network management system includes a network management platform for storing network conditions and configuration information and pushing the information to premises networking devices. An application programming interface allows third-party applications to send instructions to and access data from various system processes.

摘要: A mobile application for facilitating installation of the user nodes in a fixed wireless network utilizes augmented reality to provide location, usage, and recommendation information about nearby service nodes. A camera of the mobile computing device captures image data depicting the surrounding area, which is displayed on a touchscreen display of the mobile computing device with graphical elements including icons and textual information overlaid on the captured image data in different positions and with different visual characteristics based on geometric information for the mobile computing device and the surrounding area, the relative position of nearby service nodes with respect to the mobile computing device, and information about the service nodes such as typical usage and/or whether the service node is recommended or not. A virtual antenna is also overlaid on the image data, and an image depicting the virtual antenna as it would look once installed is generated and stored.

摘要: A fixed wireless access network provides for high-frequency data links between aggregation nodes and endpoint nodes. The system further provides for lower frequency wireless data links, which have carrier frequencies less than high-frequency wireless data links. These lower frequency links provide for auxiliary communications between the aggregation nodes and one or more endpoint nodes. During normal operation, the nodes exchange packet data via the high-frequency data links. However, when impairment of the high-frequency data links is detected, the nodes direct the packet data over the low-frequency data links instead until the high-frequency data links are no longer impaired.
