Abstract:
Computer processing systems are cooled and the otherwise wasted heat is extracted for space heating by providing a cooling dielectric liquid in a tank which passes from a manifold at the bottom of the tank through an array of tubular housings each having open top and bottom ends and containing row of the circuit boards. The housings sit on a divider sheet which has arrays of openings aligned with the housings allowing the liquid to pass from the manifold under little or no pressure so that the liquid flows through the housings by convection and stratifies to generate a layer of heated liquid above the open tops of the housings which can be tapped off to a heat exchanger. A heat pump acts on the cooling liquid to transfer heat to a heat transfer liquid which can be further heated by a boiler and transferred to existing heat dissipating loads.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for adjustment of a harmonization compensation applied to alleviate a discrepancy of conformity between a video image transmitted by a video transducer (1) and projected by a head-up display device (5, 6), of an aircraft, and an external scene ahead of the aircraft. At least one equipment item of the aircraft—preferably the said HUD device—equipped with at least one control element accessible in the cockpit, is programmed to be able to function according to a nominal mode and according to a maintenance mode, in which at least one of its control elements, known as a redirected control element, is used to define the applied harmonization compensation. An operator activates the maintenance mode and starts an adjustment operation, in which he modifies in real time the applied harmonization compensation, by manipulating at least one redirected control element, until the video image is matched with the external scene.
Abstract:
Bedding material for livestock or Hydromulch for soil treatment is produced by extruding straw mixed with bio-char through a conventional cubing system. The cubing process generates friction in turn changing the properties of the straw making the straw particles highly absorbent while binding the bio-char and any dust into the mixture. The mixture can be used for bedding where the bio-char acts as an absorbent. The mixture can also be used in soil remediation by spreading over the soil in dry or Hydromulch where the bio-char acts to filter contaminants and can act as a binder for an fertilizer admixed into the mixture for seeding.
Abstract:
A solid fuel is formed in a cuber to form body pieces formed of materials extruded through a die with a density greater than 35 lbs/cu ft; an energy content greater than 6500 BTU/lb; transverse dimensions less than 1.5 inches; and a length less than 4 inches; from plant biomass material which contains components when extended of greater than 1.0 inch. Primarily the materials are paper or other cellulose product and crop residue such as wheat straw. The cellulose and lignin from these materials act without additional binders as binders and encasing materials. The moisture content is maintained at a target value by mixing selected quantities of the materials without drying. The cubing machine has a feeding system where the space between the inner rotor and outer casing is smaller than 4 inches and the height of the outer flight is less than 1 inch.

Abstract:
A set of equipment items for an aircraft including a video transducer and at least two head-up display devices, wherein the video transducer and/or each HUD device is/are capable of defining the image to be projected by the HUD device on the basis of the display field of the HUD device and of one or more HUD/transducer errors, each HUD/transducer error being defined as being the difference between the HUD error of the corresponding HUD support around a direction and the transducer error around this same direction, the HUD error of an HUD support around a direction being the angular difference around this direction between the line of sight of the HUD support and a measuring reference line, and the transducer error around a direction being the angular difference around this direction between the line of sight of the transducer support and a measuring reference line.
Abstract:
Bedding material for livestock is produced by extruding straw through a conventional cubing system rather than a conventional pellet mill. The cubing process generates friction in turn changing the properties of the straw making the straw particles highly absorbent. The cubing process allows for greater particle size in the finished product as compared to pellets produce in a conventional pellet mill. The process involves the following: shredding the straw to proper size, cubing the straw into cubes and flakes, cooling, storing and packaging. The cubing process requires 40% less energy based on throughput of finished product, thus making the material more affordable to larger farming operations. Some other properties include a higher bulk density than large conventional bales or wood shavings, less dust when applying, a pasteurized product, easier to handle and spread compared to straw bales, wood shavings and sawdust
