The method may also include assigning a virtual destination address to the frame of the traffic. The method may further include internally switching the frame within the network element based on the virtual destination address. The method may additionally include modifying the virtual destination address one or more times such that the virtual destination address is translated to an actual destination address identifying an actual egress port of the network element. Moreover, the method may include routing the frame to an egress port of the network element based on the actual destination address.

    摘要: A telephone ringing signal detector is disclosed for detecting four-party fully selective superimposed ringing signals on a telephone line. Detecting these signals at the central office end of a subscriber loop carrier system permits encoding the ringing signals for transmission on the carrier system and subsequent decoding and utilization at a remote carrier terminal to control the regeneration of selective ringing signals.The ringing detector includes separate 20 Hz alternating current signal detectors for each conductor of the telephone pair and further includes separate polarity detector for each conductor. The polarity signals for the two conductors are gated by the outputs of the respective 20 Hz signals and combined in a single polarity indication applicable for either conductor. False signaling indications are thereby prevented in the presence of central office variations of amplitude, waveform and level of the dc signals, as well as variations in the phase of the ringing signals.

    摘要: A detector circuit is shown for detecting off-hook and dial pulse signals in a telephone system which, under the control of a ringing relay, reconfigures itself to provide ring-trip detection. The detection circuit includes a bridge which is responsive to circulating loop currents, while at the same time unresponsive to longitudinally balanced currents, and a two-stage voltage level detector circuit. An RC timing circuit is included between the two stages to insure that the detector is unresponsive to short duration pulses and, at the same time, once energized, will bridge over short duration interruptions of detected pulses.

    摘要: A subscriber loop carrier system using digital transmission techniques is disclosed in which remote subscriber loops include two-party lines equipped for automatic number identification. The calling party going off-hook causes an automatic number identification (ANI) test request to be sent to the subscriber location. The ANI response signal is then encoded and transmitted to the central station to indicate which party is initiating the call. The same test for automatic number identification is repeated for any substantial discontinuity in the central office loop current to obtain an updating of the automatic number identification information. Encoded pulse signals are used for both the ANI test request and the ANI response signal.
