    摘要: A device and method for adjusting a tidal breath delivered to a patient. The device includes a moving frame which is configured to move over a stationary frame that is nested within the moving frame itself. Disposed between the moving frame and the stationary frame is a compressible bellows which delivers a tidal breath to the patient each time the moving frame is passed over the stationary frame. The specific volume of the tidal breath that is delivered may adjusted according to the estimated weight of the patient, thereby preventing over inflation of the patient's lungs while undergoing treatment. To adjust the tidal breath volume, the user quickly changes the relative position of a slide selector which dictates the range of possible movement for the bellows to be compressed, thereby limiting the volume of air/oxygen which may be delivered by the bellows.

The vacuum pump has a one way directional valve so that the neck brace remains in a rigid configuration for as long as the neck brace is applied to the patient. The neck brace also specifically forms a rigid mold over the patient's chin so as to immobilize the patient as well as to provide a comfortable fit without inducing further distracting the patient or restricting the patient's venous return blood flow.

    摘要: An apparatus for supplying a patient with oxygen in emergency and/or in conjunction with CPAP devices. The apparatus includes a face mask connected to a number of quick pull adjustment devices that adjust the top and bottom of the face mask, respectively. After being slid over the head of a patient, a paramedic or other user pulls a top strap followed by a bottom strap. No further adjustment is needed in order to form a tight and secure fit on the patient between the face mask and the nose and mouth region of the patient's face. During use, a CPAP inlet or tubing, resuscitation bag, or other means for delivering oxygen is connected to an inlet of the face mask. The face mask is removed from the patient by manipulating each of the quick pull adjustment devices and then pulling the top strap and bottom strap there through.

    摘要: An apparatus and method for selecting a tidal breath to be delivered to a patient with a resuscitation bag according to the patient's size or age. A user estimates a proper tidal breath for a patient and then adjusts or fixes the volume of a resuscitation bag to deliver that selected tidal breath. The user may deploy a variety of mechanical means to either limit the effective volume of the resuscitation bag or temporary maintain the resuscitation bag in a deformed configuration which also restricts or reduces the internal volume of the resuscitation bag. The mechanical means for limiting the volume of the resuscitation bag is also marked so as to notify the user the current degree by which the volume of the resuscitation bag is reduced, thereby informing the user the size of the tidal breath that is delivered when the resuscitation bag is compressed.

    摘要: A device and method for performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on a patient. The device is an extendable airway bridge which is initially in a collapsed or storage configuration. Upon use, the airway bridge is unfolded and then fixed into an operating configuration by locking at least one incline portion and at least one vertical portion into a static position. The structural strength of the airway bridge is then increased by manipulating a support disposed on the incline portion so that it is engaged with a slot or aperture defined within a base of the airway bridge. Once in the operating configuration, the patient is laid onto the airway bridge which holds the patient in a position so as to prevent occlusion of the patient's oral airway. CPR may then be performed on the patient.
