摘要: A method for performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) includes elevating the heart of an individual to a first height relative to a lower body of the individual. The lower body may be in a substantially horizontal plane. The method may also include elevating the head of the individual to a second height relative to the lower body of the individual. The second height may be greater than the first height. The method may further include performing one or more of a type of CPR or a type of intrathoracic pressure regulation while elevating the heart and the head. The first height and the second height may be determined based on one or both of the type of CPR or the type of intrathoracic pressure regulation.

摘要: A Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) device, consisting of two distinct masseurs for chest and abdomen and a monitoring system for displaying patient's vital symptoms. The chest masseur works in controllable depth and speed, while the abdominal masseur applies pressure on abdominal aorta and Inferior vena cava in a contradictory rhythm with the chest masseur rhythm. This action causes more effective massaging by preventing overflow of blood to non-vital organs and accelerating return of blood to heart.

A leg (20) is pivotally connected to the board, and the leg includes a free end portion having a mechanical feature (35) configured to be received in a compression device to adjustably secure the compression device at a distance from the board in an operational position. A locking mechanism (32, 42) is configured to releasably maintain the leg in the operational position, which is transverse to a plane of the board.

摘要: Manual CPR apparatus allowing the application of force at two points separated by a line making a nonperpendicular angle relative to the longitudinal axis of the patient. The line separating the two force points may also lie out of the plane formed by the device's belt which circumnavigates the patient's torso. These geometrical configurations allow the facile application of the CPR force to the device by one or more operators located along the side of the patient. The device may have the capability to limit the achieved circular chest compression to one of a plurality of magnitudes. The device may also provide signals to indicate the appropriate times for applying pressure and may incorporate electrocardiogram and defibrillation components. The device may contact the patient's chest with a suction cup or other adhering component to assist in the patient's chest expanding in the interval between compressive strokes.

The mechanical chest compression device compresses the patient's thorax against the gurney deck. The mechanical chest compression device may engage the side rails on the gurney, the gurney deck or any suitable structural elements of the gurney.
