摘要: An antenna array is provided including a substrate, a metal ground plane proximate the substrate, and a dielectric layer proximate the metal ground plane. A first plurality of antenna elements including polaronic organic transducer elements is proximate the dielectric layer and connected in series. A second plurality of antenna elements including polaronic organic transducer elements is proximate the dielectric layer and also connected in series. The first and second plurality of antenna elements are electrically isolated. The antenna elements of the first plurality of antenna elements are configured to detect a first wavelength, while the antenna elements of the second plurality of antenna elements are configured to detect a second wavelength, different from the first wavelength.

摘要: An improved methodology for binaural rendering of audio signals that are perceived by a user to originate from a real-world spatial location is disclosed. Embodiments enable personalized HRTF selection from among a data store containing a plurality of candidate HRTFs using an evaluation-based personalization strategy. One or more relational models personalize the selection. These relational models can relate candidate HRTFs to each other and a particular user to other users so that only a subset of the candidate HRTFs require evaluation. Candidate HRTFs can be evaluated according to one or more selection policies, and relational models can be updated based on actual responses from a user to virtual audio signals that are rendered by a candidate HRTF.

摘要: A method for forming a photon absorbing layer. A substrate having a target surface is introduced into a controllable environment, and the pressure within the controllable environment is reduced. A first flux of a semiconductor material and a second flux of a dopant are simultaneously directed toward the target surface for a period of time, thereby producing a thickness of a substantially amorphous layer of the semiconductor material and dopant on the target surface. The semiconductor layer is laser annealed to convert it to a substantially multi-crystalline layer.

摘要: The use of shielded material in a deployable vehicle arresting and containment device that, when used for the interception of an unmanned vehicle, effectively achieves RF isolation of that vehicle, breaking all external communications with that vehicle. This apparatus, which may have internal and external antennas, could enable a variety of advanced effects such as localized GPS and command and control link spoofing and jamming as well as providing a vehicle for signal intercept and intelligence solutions. Additionally, due to the shielding properties of the arresting and containment device, semi-destructive means such as localized EMPs could be used to damage the encapsulated unmanned vehicle electronics.

摘要: Light beams from multiple emitters, such as lasers, arranged in two or more arrays are combined by beam-superposition using a dispersive element, such as a diffraction grating, to provide a combined output beam with increased power. Each emitter produces light of a controlled wavelength that is incident upon the diffraction grating at a corresponding selected incidence angle to produce a diffracted wave that propagates in an output direction and forms a component of the combined output beam. First and second arrays are located on opposing sides of the combined output beam and are arranged such that light from all of the emitters overlaps to form the combined output beam. The wavelengths may be controlled by an external resonator, for example. As many as four arrays may be combined using a two-dimensional diffraction grating.

摘要: An Enhanced Ethernet Network Interface Card (EENIC) interfaces with a host and a network. The EENIC includes an internal network interface controller (NIC), a field programmable array (FPGA) in electrical communication with the internal network interface controller, and a peripheral component interconnect express (PCIe) controller, in independent electrical communication with the field programmable array or the internal network interface controller. The FPGA is configured to intercept data from either the host, or from the network, or from a combination thereof. Additionally, the configured interception is undetected by the host, or by the network, or a combination thereof.

摘要: Antenna system being tunable over multiple frequency bands. One planar surface of the antenna structure has metallic radiating elements of various geometries with selectable electrical interconnections between the radiating elements. An opposite side of the antenna structure has a signal transmission network with signal feedthroughs to selected metallic radiating elements. The signal transmission network also has phase shift inducing means. Depending on the frequency band of operation, metallic radiating elements are appropriately combined through the electrical interconnections to form composite radiating elements with resonant frequencies within the frequency band of operation. Induced phase shifts in the signal paths feeding selected metallic radiating elements cause a net resultant free-space directivity gain.
