摘要: A fuel system of an internal combustion engine comprises a fuel tank for storing fuel, a fuel injection valve disposed on the internal combustion engine, a fuel supply pipeline connecting between the fuel tank and the fuel injection valve, a fuel pump for supplying the fuel in the fuel tank to the fuel injection valve through the fuel supply pipeline, a fuel injection pressure regulator for regulating the fuel injection pressure of the fuel injection valve to a predetermined pressure, a fuel return pipeline through which surplus fuel from the fuel injection pressure regulator is returned into the fuel tank, and a pressure increasing device disposed in the fuel return pipeline and serving to increase the pressure in the fuel return pipeline above the pressure in the fuel tank while maintaining fuel pressure regulating function of the fuel injection pressure regulator.

摘要: The present invention provides an earthquake resistant multi-story building which is characterized by having an energy concentration story. The energy concentration story has an elasto-plastic force-displacement relationship regarding horizontal force and displacement. The force-displacement relationship is characterized in that: (a) stiffness in elastic range (F.sub.y /d.sub.y) is generally equal to an optimal stiffness of the same story according to an elastic design concept; (b) the yield strength F.sub.y is generally less than 80% of an optimum yield strength; (c) stiffness in plastic range is positive and generally less than about a half of the stiffness in the elastic range; and (d) ultimate displacement is generally at least twice as large as the yield displacement. The energy concentration story is capable of entering into the plastic range while other stories are in the elastic range, and absorbing vibration energy by plastic deformations thereof so as to decrease deformations of other stories when a large external force is exerted to the building.

摘要: A rotation signal outputting device outputs a rotation signal at every predetermined rotational angle of an engine output shaft. An actual measurement value calculating device measures an amount of time spent by multiple engine cylinders in rotation between predetermined rotational angles during an expansion stroke, the measurements being made based on rotation signals output by the rotation signal outputting device. The actual measurement value calculating device also calculates an actual measurement value in response to the measured time interval. A first variation amount calculating device calculates a first difference between actual measurement values in two cylinders of the engine, and calculates a first variation amount in response to the calculated first different. A second variation amount calculating device calculates a second difference between a current first variation amount and a previous first variation amount calculated during a time which precedes a time of calculation of the current first variation amount by a period equal to an integer times a crank angle of 360 degrees in the engine. The second variation amount calculating device also calculates a second variation amount in response to the calculated Second difference. A smoothing device smooths the second variation amount into a third variation amount. A consecutive misfire detecting device detects a misfiring condition in response to the third variation amount.

摘要: In a fuel pressure regulator, the interior of a housing is divided into an air chamber and a fuel chamber by a diaphragm. A throttle portion is made up of a movable valve and a valve seat provided in the fuel chamber. The valve seat includes a fuel passage in communication with a fuel outflow pipe acting as an outflow passage for the fuel. The fuel passage is formed in such a shape that its cross-sectional area is gradually increased from the inlet side toward the outlet side.A valve seat holder includes an end face diposite to the movable valve, which end face is disposed on the same plane as an end face of the valve seat on the inlet side. The valve seat holder also includes a shoulder portion provided with a smoothly curved surface extending from the end face opposite to the movable valve to an outer peripheral side surface of the valve seat holder.
