Abstract:
A method of manufacturing a support body for run flat, wherein in a case where the circumferential wall of a tubular blank B is pressingly held between inner and outer molding rollers 1 and 2 and where the molding rollers 1 and 2 are rotated to form at least one circumferentially continuous protruding part on the circumferential wall of the tubular blank B to process the tubular blank B into an annular shell, a molding roller having the maximum outer diameter that is substantially the same as the inner diameter of the tubular blank B is used as the inner molding roller 1.
Abstract:
A forming device having a rotating frame (1) and a forming blade (2) movable in the axial and radial directions of the rotating frame. One side-edge portion of a tubular blank (B) is fixed to a predetermined position of the rotating frame (1), and the other side-edge portion is movably set on the rotating frame. While the rotating frame (1) is rotated, the forming blade (2) is pressed to the inner diameter side or the outer diameter side of a peripheral wall of the tubular blank (B). The forming blade is reciprocated from the fixed side-edge portion radially outward or inward and moved toward the movable side-edge portion. Thus, a tubular formed body in which at least a ridge portion or a recess portion continuing in circumferential direction is shaped in the peripheral wall is formed.
Abstract:
A primary formed body is formed by fitting bead rings to outside end portions of a cylindrical body having an inner liner, a film layered on an outer peripheral side of the inner liner, and a carcass material disposed on an outer peripheral side of the film. A green tire is formed on an outer peripheral surface of a rigid inner mold by prevulcanizing the inner liner in a state where a center portion of the primary formed body bulges toward an outer peripheral side, and is held by suction on an inner peripheral surface of a transferring/holding mold to the outer peripheral surface of the rigid inner mold, placing the rigid inner mold inside the primary formed body, then suspending the suction with the transferring/holding mold, and transferring the primary formed body to the outer peripheral surface of the rigid inner mold. The green tire is vulcanized.

A primary formed body is formed by fitting bead rings to outside end portions of a cylindrical body having a film and a carcass material disposed on an outer peripheral side of the film. A green tire is formed on a rigid inner mold by causing a center portion of the primary formed body to bulge toward an outer peripheral side, and holding the center portion by suction on the inner peripheral surface of the transferring/holding mold having a similar shape to the outer peripheral surface of the rigid inner mold, and suspending the suction with the transferring/holding mold, and transferring the primary formed body to an outer peripheral surface of a bladder. The bladder has a uniform thickness and an outer peripheral surface in a neutral state similar to a profile of an inner peripheral surface of a tire to be produced. The green tire is vulcanized.

Abstract:
The present invention provides a tire/wheel assembly and a run-flat support member. The tire/wheel assembly is formed as follows: a pneumatic tire is fitted to a wheel rim; and the run-flat support member constituted of a circular shell and elastic rings is inserted into a cavity of the pneumatic tire, in which the circular shell has a support surface thereof extended toward the periphery of the tire and leg portions along each side of the support surface, and the elastic rings support the leg portions of the circular shell on the wheel rim. In the tire/wheel assembly, a plurality of through-holes or wavy asperities are made in the inner rim of each of the leg portions of the circular shell along a shell circumferential direction. The inner rims in which these through-holes or asperities are formed are embedded in the elastic rings.
Abstract:
A tire/wheel assembly in which a run-flat support member 3 is inserted into a cavity of a pneumatic tire 2, where the run-flat support member 3 includes a circular shell 4 in which the outer circumferential side thereof is used as a support surface and the inner circumferential side thereof is opened to have two leg portions, and elastic rings 5 supporting the ends of the two leg portions on a rim. An air path 7 is provided in the elastic ring 5 so as to interconnect the inside and outside of the run-flat support member 3.
