Abstract:
To improve the convenience of a record medium and allow a reproduction process to be more easily performed than before. When a reproduction process 123 that reproduces material data recorded on a disc 32 is executed, a disc information file management section 63 references a reproduction history of a disc information file held in a disc information file hold section 52 and starts reproducing material data from a position according to the reproduction history. When the reproduction process is completed, the disc information file management section 63 updates the reproduction history of the disc information file held in the disc information file hold section 52. A disc information file record control section 82 records the updated disc information file on the disc 32.
Abstract:
To smoothly reproduce data. A data generation section 103 generates an essence data file composed of a file header, a file body, and a file footer. A header size obtainment section 108 obtains header size information of essence data file from the data generation section 103, and supplies the header size information to a clip generation section 104 and an index file update section 105. The clip generation section 104 generates a clip information file that describes the header size information supplied from the header size obtainment section 108. The index file update section 105 registers a clip element that describes the header size information supplied from the header size obtainment section 108 to an index file stored in a ROM. The present invention can be applied to a video program creation support system.
Abstract:
A control apparatus is provided for controlling a drive apparatus to access a rewritable information recording medium using a first file system. The control apparatus includes a first determination means for determining whether or not a matter which is not permitted in a second file system exists on the information recording medium; and a second determination means for determining that there is a possibility that the valid data in the first file system is recorded in a first file system space when it is determined that a matter which is not permitted in the second file system exists on the information recording medium.
Abstract:
In order to perform simultaneous recording of a plurality of pieces of real time data, a large capacity of buffer memories were required. In addition, it was difficult to reproduce data which was recorded by a different apparatus. The present invention has an objective of providing an information recording medium, a simultaneous recording method, and an information recording and reproduction apparatus which guarantee simultaneous recording. The simultaneous recording is guaranteed by reproducing data in each of areas having at least a minimum size fulfilling the simultaneous recording condition which allows for the number of access operations which is twice the number of pieces of real time data to be recorded, and when the data amount in the buffer is empty, switching the current recording operation to another recording operation to continue recording.
Abstract:
In order to perform simultaneous recording and reproduction, a large capacity of buffer memories were required. In addition, it was difficult to record data while reproducing data which was recorded by a different apparatus. The present invention has an objective of providing an information recording medium, a simultaneous recording and reproduction method, and an information recording and reproduction apparatus which guarantee simultaneous recording and reproduction. The simultaneous recording and reproduction is guaranteed by reproducing data recorded in an area having at least a minimum size fulfilling the simultaneous recording and reproduction condition which allows for four access operations, recording data in an area having at least the same size, and performing reproduction and recording alternately by switching reproduction to recording when the data amount in the reproduction buffer becomes full and switching recording to reproduction when the data amount in the recording buffer becomes empty.
Abstract:
To smoothly reproduce data. A clip generation section 104 generates a clip information file that describes attribute information of each piece of essence data that are necessary to reproduce each piece of essence data generated by a data generation section 103 according to parameter information supplied from an information obtainment section 102. An index file update section 105 generates in an index file read from an optical disc 17 and stored in a RAM a clip element that describes attribute information of a clip necessary to reproduce the clip according to the parameter information supplied from the information obtainment section 102 and updates the index file. The present invention can be applied to a video program creation support system.
Abstract:
A recording and reproduction apparatus includes a first decoding section for outputting first decoded data generated by decoding the first data; a second decoding section for outputting second decoded data generated by decoding the second data; and a control section for calculating a first time period, from a start point of a seek operation of the reading section from the read finish point of first data to the read start point of second data until the first decoding section completes output of the first decoded data, and a second time period, from the start point of the seek operation until the second decoded data is allowed to be output by the second decoding section; and comparing a length of the calculated first time period and a length of the calculated second time period.

Abstract:
A transmitting method serializes two series of signals into one series of signals, and transmits thereof. The two series of signals are produced through this way: a total number of bits of a luminance signal of an HDTV signal to be transmitted within a frame is divided into units corresponding to a total number of scanning lines ‘K’ per frame of one channel of an SDTV signal. Then K pcs. of transmission units per frame including a luminance signal and a color signal are produced in two series. Among the transmission units, at least the following data are inserted into the units corresponding to active scanning lines: (a) a given word of the control signal, (b) a signal comprising samples of N timed by a number of words of luminance signal within a given period of one horizontal scanning period of the SDTV, which includes a luminance signal and color signal of the SDTV, and (c) words corresponding to a given level. A transmitter realizing this method is also provided. A receiver and a receiving method automatically detect the source format of the video signal transmitted through the transmitting method using a digital sync signal and a line number. These receiver and method of receiving are also provided.
Abstract:
A rate control for a VCR or the like records digitized image data by compression coding technologies so that the code amount of the compression coded data becomes a predetermined code amount or less. Even in the case where an interleave is performed among a plurality of blocks, the prediction error of the code amount after the interleave can be reduced and the rate control can be precisely performed by quantizing so that the same quantization table is assigned to each of the interleaved blocks in pre-scanning in the pre-stage of an interleave memory.
