Abstract: A conversion method for converting luminance of a video, including a luminance value in a first luminance range, to be displayed on a display apparatus includes: acquiring a first luminance signal indicating a code value obtained by quantization of the luminance value of the video; and converting the code value indicated by the acquired first luminance signal into a second luminance value determined based on a luminance range of the display apparatus, the second luminance value being compatible with a second luminance range with a maximum value smaller than a maximum value of the first luminance range and larger than 100 nit. This provides the conversion method capable of achieving further improvement.

Abstract: An imaging apparatus, not including a display that displays setting information for operation setting in the imaging apparatus, includes: an image sensor that captures a subject image to generate image data; an output interface connected to an external apparatus to output the image data; and a controller that controls an output setting for outputting the image data in a predetermined format from the output interface to the external apparatus. In a state where the output setting is applied, no setting information for canceling the output setting is displayed on the external apparatus serving as an output destination of the image data in the predetermined format by the output interface. The imaging apparatus further comprises an input interface that receives an instruction to cancel the output setting from the state where the output setting is applied.

Abstract: A decoding system decodes a video stream, which is encoded video information. The decoding system includes a decoder that acquires the video steam and generates decoded video information, a maximum luminance information acquirer that acquires maximum luminance information indicating the maximum luminance of the video stream from the video stream, and an outputter that outputs the decoded video information along with the maximum luminance information. In in a case where the video stream includes a base video stream and an enhanced video stream, the decoder generates base video information by decoding the base video stream, an enhanced video information by decoding the enhanced video stream, and generates the decoded video information based on the base video information and the enhanced video information, and the outputter outputs the decoded video information, along with the maximum luminance information.

Abstract: System and method for improving the shaving experience by providing improved visibility of the skin shaving area. A digital camera is integrated with the electric shaver for close image capturing of shaving area, and displaying it on a display unit. The display unit can be integral part of the electric shaver casing, or housed in a separated device which receives the image via a communication channel. The communication channel can be wireless (using radio, audio or light) or wired, such as dedicated cabling or using powerline communication. A light source is used to better illuminate the shaving area. Video compression and digital image processing techniques are used for providing for improved shaving results. The wired communication medium can simultaneously be used also for carrying power from the electric shaver assembly to the display unit, or from the display unit to the electric shaver.

The conversion apparatus includes a first acquisition unit, a first luminance converter, a second luminance converter, a quantization converter, and an output unit outputting a third luminance signal to the display apparatus. The display apparatus includes: a second acquisition unit acquiring the third luminance signal and setting information indicating display settings recommended to the display apparatus in display of the video; a display setting unit setting the display apparatus, using the setting information; a third luminance converter converting a third code value indicated by the third luminance signal into a second luminance value compatible with a second luminance range, using the setting information; and a display controller displaying the video on the display apparatus based on the second luminance value.
