摘要: The present invention discloses an image reading apparatus which enables high-speed reading of an image transmitted through a transparent material such as a photographic film or an image reflected by a reflective material. In the image reading apparatus, a transparent material such as a photographic film is first conveyed in a conveying direction thereof, and an image frame to be read is positioned at a reading position. After the image frame is positioned, light emitted from a lamp is made into slit light by a light diffusion box, a longitudinal direction of the slit light coinciding with the conveying direction of the photographic film, and the slit light is irradiated on a portion (line) to be read of the photographic film. Light transmitted through the portion of the photographic film is imaged by a lens unit onto a light-receiving surface of a line CCD (a reading sensor) which is disposed along the longitudinal direction of the photographic film. The photographic film is moved by sub-scanning means in a direction substantially perpendicular to the direction the photographic film is conveyed, and the position of a subsequent portion (line) to be read is determined. In this way, an image recorded on the photographic film is read line by line along a longitudinal direction of the image frame.

摘要: In a photo digitizing system, the date-of-photograph of each individual image is extracted from image data, and is recorded in association with each image data on a storage medium. If the date-of-photograph of a print image cannot be determined based on its own data, a corresponding film image is retrieved by comparing the image data of the print image to image data of each of the film images, and the date-of-photograph of the corresponding film image is determined to be the date-of-photograph of the concerned print image. When the customer adds a tag to any one of the digitized images, data of the tag is recorded in a customer IDX file in relation to a frame number of that image. To retrieve some images from the storage medium by use of a search term, those frame numbers which are related to tag data that match with the search term are extracted in the customer IDX file, so the images having the extracted frame numbers are displayed.

摘要: A CCD scanner is provided with a halogen lamp for irradiating illumination light for reading a frame image on a photographic film, and a halogen lamp for irradiating infrared light via an infrared light filter for detecting scratches and the like on the film surface, and the optical axes of the respective light sources are coincided by a half mirror. A diffusion plate turret is also provided for selectively placing each of a plurality of diffusion plates for diffusing the illumination light near the photographic film. As a result, it is possible to perform both an image reading that doubles as an erasure of scratching on the film surface using visible light having different degrees of diffusion and a detection of scratches and the like using infrared light.

摘要: An area CCD scanner (image reader) comprises an LED unit (light source), an area CCD and an image-forming lens. The LED unit includes a large number of light emitting elements of each color of blue, green, red and infrared. Light emitted from the LED unit and having passed through a photographic film is received by the area CCD and is converted into an electric signal, which is outputted as photographic image data. When the light source is inspected, a focal point of the image-forming lens is adjusted to a light emitting surface of the LED unit. Then, the LED unit is turned on without setting the photographic film to receive the light thereof with the area CCD. On the basis of the obtained electric signal, a light-emission state of the LED unit is shown on a display.

摘要: A light source and an original reading device are provided in which light can be emitted uniformly and with a low loss of light amount, by a minimum required number of light emitting elements. A surface of a substrate, at which surface LED elements are disposed, is covered with a resist film having high reflectance, such as a white resist film. Light emitted toward the substrate from the LED elements is reflected toward a photographic film (toward a side of the LED elements opposite a substrate side of the LED elements). In this way, at an LED light source, almost all of light emitted from the LED elements can be emitted toward the photographic film. A diffusion box is disposed so as to surround a periphery of the LED light source. Due to a light reflection diffusion plate of the diffusion box, light, which is emitted from the LED light source and enters into the diffusion box, is guided toward the photographic film while being diffused and reflected. In this way, the light is guided while being collected, without a loss in an amount of light incident from the LED light source. Non-uniformity of a light amount distribution can be corrected even more (non-uniformity of a light amount can be reduced).

摘要: A photographic printing shutter includes a pair of semicircular shutter bodies for cutting off printing light or allowing it to pass, at least one pair of rotatable shafts disposed substantially parallel to the axis of the printing light with the axis thereof interposed therebetween and respectively fixed to the pair of semicircular shutter bodies, and drive motors for respectively rotating the pair of semicircular shutter bodies between a closing position where the pair of semicircular shutter bodies cuts off the printing light and an opening position where the pair of semicircular shutter bodies allows the printing light to pass. The pair of semicircular shutters is rotated every 180.degree. so that a uniform exposure time can be obtained at any portion in a light transmissive window.
