Abstract: A method for photogrammetric texture mapping using casual images is provided. The method may include the following steps: estimating, for each vertex of at least a portion of a three dimensional (3D) mesh representing a model, projection parameters associated with a virtual camera that is unique for each vertex; mapping pixels from a two dimensional (2D) image to the vertices, such that each mapping of a pixel is based on the estimated respective virtual camera parameters; and texturing the portion of the mesh with corresponding mapped pixels wherein vertices on the textured portion are selected such that they are visible from a specified viewpoint associated with the 3D mesh.

Abstract: A spectrally encoded flow cytometry (SEFC) technique for imaging blood in the microcirculation. Since the dependency of one of the axes of the image on time prevents effective quantification of essential clinical parameters, the optical path in an SEFC system is split into two parallel imaging lines, followed by data analysis for recovering the flow speed from the multiplexed data. The data analysis may be auto-correlation of a pair of images obtained from a sequence of images of the imaged blood vessel.

Abstract: A microstructure made of flexible material includes a plurality of projections extending from a common substrate. A distal end of each projection includes a resilient flap. All lateral dimensions of each of the projections increase monotonically with increased distance from a surface defined by distal ends of the flaps when the flaps are unbent. Each of the projections extends from the common substrate in a general direction that is locally substantially perpendicular to the surface defined by the ends of the flaps. When a shear force is applied to each of the flaps by relative motion between the flap and a cooperating surface in contact with the flap, the flap bends so as to increase the area of contact of that flap with the cooperating surface, affecting adhesion between the microstructure and the cooperating surface.
