The radioactive contamination monitoring device comprises a radiation detection unit, a photoelectric conversion unit for converting the light generated in the radiation detection unit to electricity, and a signal processing unit connected to the photoelectric conversion unit. The radiation detection unit includes a quadrangular prism-shaped light guide bar having a rectangular cross-section and a scintillator attached only to two adjacent side faces of the four side faces of the light guide bar.
Abstract:
A survey meter for measuring a radioactive contamination caused in an inner surface of a pipe includes a radiation detecting section and a signal processing section. The radiation detecting section includes a rod-shaped light guide unit, a reflecting portion connected to one end surface of the light guide unit, a photoelectric transfer unit, for outputting an electronic signal, connected to another one end surface of the light guide unit, and a scintillator unit provided to a circumference of the light guide unit. The signal processing section includes a pulse height discriminator for outputting a logic signal at a time when a pulse height value of the electronic signal outputted from the photoelectric transfer unit is higher than a threshold value, a counter unit for counting the logic signal, a contamination judging unit for judging whether a radioactive contamination is caused or not, and a display unit for displaying the value counted by the counter unit and a contamination judging result judged by the contamination judging unit.
Abstract:
Even when a radiation detector contacts a pipe arrangement or another member that is an object to be monitored, the damage of the detector is prevented without impairing the detection performance. An inside-tube-wall radioactive contamination monitor comprises: a rod-like light guide bar having a polygonal cross-section; a plurality of scintillators secured to the outer circumferential surface of the light guide bar; a net-like protective tube worn so as to cover the outer circumference of the scintillators with a space between the surfaces of the scintillators and the tube; and a guide portion attached to an end of the net-like protective tube, supporting an end of the light guide bar, and having a shape the diameter of which decreases as approaching the end. The monitor includes: a photoelectric conversion unit coupled to the base end of the net-like protective tube and incorporating a photoelectric conversion element; and a signal processing unit connected to the photoelectric conversion unit.

Abstract:
In an automatic teller machine having a bill recycle module, when a deficiency detector detects a bill box to be deficient in bills, the operation of supplying bills from a refilling cashbox to the bill box is initiated provided that a customer sensor detects no person in front of the machine. The bill supplying operation continues as long as no person is detected until the number of the bills in the bill box reaches a predetermined value. Whenever a person is detected, the bill supplying operation is interrupted and the machine becomes again ready to accept a transaction. The bill supplying operation thus interrupted is resumed when the customer sensor ceases to detect a person.

Abstract:
A frequency synthesizer is able not only to keep a high frequency stability and follow a frequency of a reference signal that is set to cover or varies over a broad range, but also to provide stable phase-locked loop characteristics without a variable frequency oscillator being employed. In the frequency synthesizer, a phase-locked loop comprises phase comparator 1 for detecting a phase difference between reference signal A and comparison signal B to output phase error information; loop filter 2 for generating loop control information D in accordance with the phase error information C; and DDS 22 which generates the comparison signal B in accordance with the loop control information D which is a phase incremental value to take a required frequency out of waveform data corresponding to a phase by employing a clock signal from clock oscillator 32. Thus, synchronizing signal I which follows reference signal A, a frequency of which is set to cover or varies over a broad range can be obtained.

A camera having a depth priority operation mode calculates a stop value and perform photography such that multiple objects at different distances all enter into the photographic depth of field. When the calculated stop value is less than the smallest possible stop value of a photographic lens attached to the camera, the photographic lens is driven so that the closest object is placed on the photographic lens side of the focal surface, when the closest object is focused into the photographic depth of field.
Abstract:
A filter apparatus for removing plankton out of fresh or sea water containing the plankton. The filter apparatus comprises a filter housing provided with a partition plate having a plurality of through-holes thereby to partition the housing into a non-filtrate chamber and a filtrate chamber. A plurality of filter elements, each having open top end, a filter portion and non-filter portion, which are fitted in the through-holes of the partition plate to protrude the open top ends into the filtrate chamber. Plankton in the water are concentrated at the non-filter portion disposed near the partition plate and removed through an opening provided at a portion of the non-filtrate chamber near the partition plate.
