Abstract: A method of building rubber articles, such as a pneumatic tire, and the resulting rubber article itself. The method particularly involves the preparation of a composite of a tacky, shaped, unvulcanized rubber stock having a selected, protective film overlay loosely adhered thereto. Such composites can particularly be comprised of tread and sidewall stocks to be adhered to an unvulcanized, rubberized, fabric-reinforced carcass for the purpose of building a tire which is subsequently shaped and cured. Optionally, at least a portion of the protective film overlay can be removed from the unvulcanized, shaped rubber stock prior to building the desired rubber article.

Abstract: A method of building an elastomeric fabric container by building an innerliner on a building form, applying a solvent solution of fluorocarbon elastomer over the innerliner and laying up fabric over the cement coat while the cement is sufficiently fluid to strike through the fabric to give at least one layer of fabric covered with at least one coat of fluorocarbon elastomer and curing the elastomer to give a finished container.

Abstract: A package comprised of an article selected from unvulcanized rubber, compounding ingredients for unvulcanized rubber and compounding ingredients for thermoplastic polymers wrapped in a protective film composite compatible with said unvulcanized rubber or thermoplastic polymer respectively. Said film composite is comprised of an admixture of (1) an unvulcanized elastomeric block copolymer and (2) a thermoplastic aromatic group-containing resin characterized by being soluble in styrene. The invention is further directed to a method of preparing the package and to compounding high unsaturation rubber and thermoplastic polymers prepared by mixing said package with high unsaturation rubber or thermoplastic rubber respectively.
