    摘要: A pneumatic tire includes a tread portion including main grooves and land portions. In a cross-sectional view of the tire, one of the land portions includes a first edge, a second edge, a ground contact surface extending between the first edge and the second edge and having an arc-shaped profile protruding radially outwardly, and conductive portion made of conductive rubber. The conductive portion extends from a radially inner end to a radially outer end exposed at the ground contact surface with an inclination toward the first edge. The inner end is connected to a tire internal structural member to be electrically connected to a rim when the tire is mounted on the rim. On the ground contact surface, a central position of the outer end is located on a central position of the land portion in a tire axial direction, or on a side of the first edge.

Embodiments of such forming units include a tread strip extruder (110) located at a pre-cure end of the closed-loop tread strip forming unit. Such units include an uncured tread strip handling assembly (120) configured to transport the first uncured tread strip from the first tread strip extruder and to a first tread strip mold member (130). The unit further includes a curing press (150) having an inlet and an outlet, a pre-cure mold handling assembly (140) configured to insert the loaded tread strip mold member into the curing press, a post-cure mold handling assembly (160) configured to receive the loaded tread strip mold member from the outlet of the curing press, a return assembly (170) configured to transfer the first tread strip mold member to the pre-cure end to complete a closed-loop.

    摘要: A method is provided for manufacturing tread for a tire without necessarily extruding the tread profile. The tread is created from multiple discrete parts that are cut from a sheet of uncured rubber material. The parts are joined together to create the tread, which can be applied to a tire immediate and cured to form a tire. Different treads formed from different rubber compositions may be created. The treads may also be created in varying shape and lengths with different rubber compositions used in different parts of the tread. One or more tread pieces can be applied to the same or different tire intermediates, which may be advantageous for simultaneous testing of different tread designs.

    摘要: A pneumatic tire has a tread rubber made of a nonconductive rubber. The tread rubber is provided with a first and second conductive portions made of a conductive rubber. The first conductive portion extends radially inwardly from a ground-contacting surface, extends to one side in tire width direction, and reaches a carcass layer or a side wall rubber. An exposed position of the first conductive portion is separated from a tire equator at a distance is equal to or more than 10% of a ground-contacting width. The second conductive portion extends radially inwardly from the ground-contacting surface, extends to another side in tire width direction, and reaches the carcass layer or the side wall rubber. An exposed position of the second conductive portion is separated from the tire equator at a distance is equal to or more than 10% of the ground-contacting width.

    摘要: The invention include methods and apparatus for demolding a tread. The methods include arranging one or more rollers to extend across a transverse extent of a tread molding cavity and across an outer, exposed side of a tread. The one or more rollers are freely-rotatable and arranged to define a demolding path of the tread extending from the mold. The tread is demolded from the tread molding cavity along the demolding path such that the tread is initially directed outwardly from a molded position within the tread molding cavity at an initial angle less than 90 degrees from the molded position, the tread continuing along the demolding path until the tread is directed away from the molding cavity in a direction 90 degrees from the molded position at a perpendicular position located a distance from the molding cavity at least equal to approximately 80% of the tread thickness.
