摘要:
A mobile communication device has a processor, a radio, a near field communication (NFC) device, a battery, and memory for storing data. The power level of the battery is measured. When the measured power level is above a first predetermined level, power is provided to the radio to allow communication. Sufficient power is provided to operate the NFC device as a reader and a tag. When the measured power level of the battery falls below the first predetermined level, battery power to the radio is shut off. Sufficient power is maintained to the NFL device to allow it to operate only as a tag. Sufficient power is maintained to the memory to retain the data stored in the memory. When the measured power level of the battery falls below a second predetermined level, the NFC device is required to harvest all of its power from the field.

Certain aspects of a method and system for providing wireless communication may comprise encoding within a single chip, FM audio data received by a FM radio. The encoded received FM audio data may be translated within the single chip to a Bluetooth compatible format. The translated received FM audio data may be communicated to at least one off-chip Bluetooth enabled device via the Bluetooth radio via at least one of the following: a synchronous connection oriented (SCO) link, an extended SCO (eSCO) link, and an advanced audio distribution profile (A2DP) link. The received FM audio data may be communicated via a dedicated link that couples the FM radio to a PCM interface that handles the encoding.

A plurality of digital audio signals from a plurality of sources utilizing different clocks may be processed and transmitted via an FM transmitter. The plurality of signals may have different sample rates which are converted to one same sample rate by a plurality of rate adapters. The plurality of rate adapters may be clocked at one same sample rate. The energy levels of the signals may be adjusted relative to one another and as a group. Energy level adjustments may improve FM modulation signal characteristics and audible energy levels for an end listener. The plurality of digital audio signals may be combined into one composite signal and FM modulated in the digital domain. The FM modulated signal may be converted to analog signal prior to being filtered, amplified and coupled to an antenna for transmission.

A method and system for an RDS decoder for single chip integrated Bluetooth and FM Transceiver and baseband processor are provided. The RDS decoder may have two phases, an acquisition phase and a decoding phase. During an acquisition phase, synchronization of a bit stream may be established based on detecting at least a portion of a plurality of received radio data service (RDS) data blocks. The synchronized bit stream may then be decoded during the decoding phase. If during decoding, at least a portion of the bit stream is out of synchronization, the bit stream may be synchronized without returning to the acquisition phase.

Methods for removing complexity from a Bluetooth processor's firmware and placing them in hardware in order to use a simplier processor or to do other tasks in the Bluetooth processor. Assembling and managing communication packets and transmission, providing modulo divides, and allocating memory are typical firmware tasks for a Bluetooth device. By creating circuits that assemble and manage communications packets and transmits, provide modulo divides, and manage Bluetooth device memory a processing burden can be removed from the Bluetooth processor. This lessened processing requirement allows less expensive, e.g. slower, processors to be used, or other functions to be incorporated into the processor's firmware.
