    摘要: A method for simultaneous playback of audio tracks from digital transceiver devices, which are adapted to define a communication network. The digital devices store audio tracks to be played. One of the digital devices is actuated as a Master device (M) and the remaining N digital devices as Slave devices. The master device generates a pilot signal by selecting a pilot audio track to be played from among stored audio tracks and by adding a synchronization frequency (fS) to the pilot audio track, having an assigned value that falls out of the sound wave frequency range. The Slave devices receive a pilot portion of the pilot signal and extract the synchronization frequency and the received part of the pilot audio track. The slave devices use the pilot to identify a stored track to be played using the synchronization frequency as a sampling frequency.

    摘要: A method and apparatus are provided for a first controlled device, such as a wireless local transmitter that accepts a plurality of digital audio signals and corresponding program information signals converted from a controlled source, such as the encoded digital data provided by a digital data signal source, typically a community antenna television (CATV) cable or direct broadcast satellite, then modulates said digital audio and corresponding program information signals on different carrier frequencies and transmits the modulated signals to a plurality of second controlled devices, such as remote digital receiver/tuners that demodulate said signals to output music in stereophonic sound and display the corresponding program information by means of an alphanumeric display. The first and second controlled devices contain microprocessor systems for communicating, controlling, storing, processing, and display of digital data within the operation of the respective system. A high speed, error free digital signal protocol is utilized for transmitting digital audio and corresponding program information signals to and from the digital receiver/tuner. The digital data transmitter and digital receiver/tuners utilize the 44.1 kilohertz (kHz) Compact Disc (CD) clock signal embedded in digital audio signals provided by an established delivery system to derive clocking signals for reception and processing of digital audio signals and for implementing the display information communications protocol.

In some embodiments, such a charge may include a credit or other reward that is provided to sending devices or receiving devices for implementing a local transfer of multimedia content.

    摘要: Spread-spectrum technology, either direct sequence or frequency hopping, or a combination of the two, is used for transmitting audio signals one way and control signals two ways over an RF channel(s) to reduce interference with/from other RF transmissions and enabling use of multiple such systems in close proximity without requiring pre-selection of transmission frequencies. Alternatively, multiple channels with appended access codes may be used, wherein interference or loss of clear signal results in automatic switching to another channel. The control signals accompany the transmitted audio signal at some time in the transmission interval, or previous to the beginning of the transmission interval, and constitute a coded control message allowing a unique connection. In some cases the encoding keys may only occur at the beginning of the desired message, while in other cases the two-way control signals may continue throughout the interval of the message link.
