摘要： The present device is an electronically controlled safety system for use in firearms comprising a shape memory actuator configured to connect a mechanical locking interface to a trigger mechanism interface comprising a point of connection to a firearm's trigger mechanism. This shape memory actuator can be controlled by use of an authentication system comprising an RFID module and a control module. The user of the firearm can provide authorization to place the firearm in the armed position by placing an RFID tag having a certain activation code near the RFID module, which can then activate the shape memory actuator through the control module. When the mechanical locking interface is connected to the trigger mechanism interface a firearm's trigger mechanism is locked in place and the firearm is in a safe position and when it is not connected to the trigger mechanism it is in an armed position.

摘要： A switching control circuit for use in an electrical power system for a transportable life support system is disclosed. The switching control circuit provides uninterrupted power to a load of medical and utility devices by switching between one of a set of converted external power voltages and an internal power voltage outputted by a rechargeable internal power source. The power switching is effected within the time interval during which a residual voltage still remains on line due to capacitance discharge of the corresponding power converter and capacitance discharge of the main bus, resulting in uninterrupted electrical power to the load. The switching control circuit comprises: (a) an input power select circuit for outputting a voltage selected from the group of internal and converted external power voltages; (b) a bus switch, which receives the selected voltage, for controlling the application of the selected voltage to the load; and (c) a main bus for transporting the selected voltage to the load of medical and utility devices.

摘要： A storage system includes a host computer coupled to a device to transfer a DMA descriptor between the host and the device. An integrity manager manages the integrity of the DMA descriptor between the host computer and the device. The integrity manager embeds a host-side DMA descriptor integrity value in the DMA descriptor and the device transfers the DMA descriptor to a device memory. The device generates a device-side DMA descriptor integrity value and compares it to the host-side DMA descriptor integrity value to determine if the descriptor is corrupted.

摘要： An apparatus and method for rapid identification and tracking of individuals in an emergency situation is disclosed. The apparatus may comprise a spring loaded band that includes a spring element movable between a first stable position and a second stable position. The spring element may be configured to coil lengthwise around an individual's wrist, arm, ankle or leg while transitioning from the second stable position to the first stable position. A hygienic coating may be configured to cover the spring element. Finally, a unique patient identifier number may be disposed on the spring loaded band.

摘要： The present invention is a method and system for indicating field replaceable unit status and configuration. A visible alert may be mounted on a card, in proximity to a location for a field replaceable unit. The visible alert may indicate a failed replaceable unit or a location for installation of a new replaceable unit. Supplemental power may be available on the card whereby a visible alert may be operable when an appliance, which contains the field replaceable unit, is powered down or when the card has been removed from the appliance. Additionally, an appliance in accordance with the present invention may include cards with visible alerts associated with field replaceable units. The visible alerts may be visible to an administrator without opening the chassis of the appliance.
