摘要： A sidewall air cushion vehicle or side effect ship (SES) includes a pair of parallel body members which are connected to each other by a rigid structure above the water surface, a flexible bow skirt in the front of the vehicle and a flexible stern skirt in the rear of the vehicle, an air cushion space between said bow and stern skirts, partition means extending transversely to the fore-aft-direction of the vehicle and dividing said space at substantially the mid thereof so as to provide a pair of compartments which are separated from each other by said partition means in a substantially fluid tight manner, at least one fan means for generating air cushions in said compartments, and sensor means for sensing the pitch angle or the pitch angle velocity of the vehicle to be used as control parameters for control of the pressure of the air in the compartments; the partition means and/or a bypass passage bypassing said partition means includes flow control means having an adjustable flow cross section and adapted to be actuated by actuating means which is controlled by said control means so that said flow cross section is adjusted in response to the pitch angle and/or the pitch angle velocity of the vehicle and/or the pressures in said compartments.

摘要： A method and apparatus for severing trees and other similar objects extending at least partially above and at least partially below the surface of the ground. A frame member which is mountable on a vehicle is moved in a substantially horizontal plane above the surface of the ground. A pair of circular cutting disks having sharpened peripheral edges are rotatably mounted on the frame laterally spaced from each other. The disks are arranged such that the imaginary planes formed by the sharpened edges of the disks are inclined from the surface of the ground and intersect at a point below the surface of the ground, such that the inclined planes have opposite slopes and such that the sharpened edge of one of the disks is substantially adjacent the sharpened edge of the other disk.

摘要： A method of manufacturing a metal bonded abrasive product such as a saw or drill segment or bead for a diamond wire is provided. The method includes the steps of providing a mixture of the metal, in particulate form, and the abrasive particles, cold pressing the mixture to the desired final shape at a pressure in the range 320 to 1500 MPa to produce a cold pressed product at a temperature in the range 900 to 1300.degree. C. under conditions which inhibit degradation of the abrasive particles and the particulate metal. The product, after free sintering, will generally have a relatively high porosity, for example, a porosity of 10 to 25 percent by volume.

摘要： Apparatus and method support the synchronization and calibration of a plurality of clocks in a medical device system that may provide treatment to a patient with a nervous system disorder. The plurality of clocks, which may be located at different components of the medical device system, comprises a first clock and a second clock. The second clock may be synchronized to a first clock by disabling a run mode operation and setting the second clock to a selected time. When a reference time of the first clock approximately equals the selected time, the second clock enables the run mode operation. Additionally, a drift time that is indicative of a time difference between the first clock and the second clock is determined. If the drift time is greater than a predetermined amount, an indication to resynchronize the first and second clocks is provided.
