摘要: Implementations described and claimed herein provide systems and methods for delivering and retrieving a leadless pacemaker. In one implementation, a leadless pacemaker has a docking end, and the docking end has a docking projection extending from a surface. A docking cap has a body defining a chamber. A retriever has sheaths extending with lumens distally from the chamber. A snare extends between the lumens forming a first snare loop pointing in a first direction and a second snare loop pointing in a second direction with a docking space formed therebetween. The snare is movable between an engaged position and a disengaged position by translating the first snare wire and the second snare wire within the first snare lumen and the second snare lumen. The engaged position includes the first snare wire and the second snare wire tightened around the docking projection within the docking space.

摘要: Diagnostic screening tests that can be used to identify if a patient is a good candidates for an implantable vagus nerve stimulation device. One or more analyte, such as a cytokine or inflammatory molecule, can be measured from a blood sample taken prior to implantation of a vagus nerve stimulator to determine the patient's responsiveness to VNS for treatment of an inflammatory disorder.

摘要: Intravascular delivery system is designed for a safe and efficient access to secondary and tertiary vascular structures, such as the branches of the coronary sinus, to enhance the delivery and deployment of various catheters, such as, for example, pacemaker electrical leads. The over-the-wire system features a straight, or alternatively shaped, micro-catheter distal tip of an inner catheter that seamlessly cooperates with a peel-away reinforced outer catheter. The inner catheter and the peel-away reinforced outer catheter are advanced in their engaged mode of operation towards (or beyond) the target site. Subsequently, the inner and outer catheters are disengaged, and the inner catheter is removed from the outer catheter. A pacemaker lead may be advanced over the wire inside the outer catheter to the target site for deployment. Subsequently, the outer catheter is easily split and may be rapidly removed from the blood vessel.

摘要: A system and method for identifying a stimulation location on a nerve is disclosed. The system includes an image-based navigation interface used to facilitate advancing a stimulation element within a patient body toward a target nerve stimulation site. Using the system one determines, separately for each potential target nerve stimulation site, a neuromuscular response of muscles produced upon applying a stimulation signal at the respective separate potential target stimulation sites. The image-based navigation interface is configured to display a graphic identification of which muscles were activated for each respective potential target nerve stimulation site upon applying the stimulation signal.

摘要: Methods for determining stimulation for a patient having a stimulator device are disclosed. A model is received at an external system indicative of a range or volume of preferred stimulation parameters, which model is preferably specific to and determined for the patient. The external system receives a plurality of pieces of fitting information for the patient, including information indicative of a symptom of the patient, information indicative of stimulation provided by the stimulator device during a fitting procedure, and/or phenotype information for the patient. The external system determines one or more sets of stimulation parameters for the patient using the pieces of fitting information. In one example, training data is applied to the pieces of fitting information to select the one or more sets of stimulation parameters from the range or volume of preferred stimulation parameters in the model.

摘要: This document discusses, among other things, systems and methods for robotically assisted implantation of an implant in a patient. A system includes an implant-positioning unit configured to engage an elongate member of the implant, and a control console communicatively coupled to the external positioning unit. The control console can have a user interface that enables a user to input motion control instructions. The control console can generate a motion control signal, according to a specific motion control instruction, to control the external positioning unit to propel the implant into a target implant site. The system can be used to robotically control the delivery and positing of a cochlear implant during a hearing-preservation cochlear implant surgery.

摘要: The present technology is generally directed to delivery systems for medical implants, such as stimulation assemblies for stimulating tissue of a human patent, and associated methods. In some embodiments, a delivery system includes (i) an elongate sheath having a distal portion with a distal opening, (ii) an attachment mechanism positioned within the elongate sheath and configured to be releasably coupled to an electrical stimulation implant, and (iii) an elongate optical component movably positioned within the elongate sheath. The optical component is configured to capture image data, and is movable from a first configuration to a second configuration. In the first configuration, the optical component is positioned proximally of the implant. In the second configuration, the optical component is positioned at least partially adjacent to the implant to capture image data proximate the distal opening, thereby facilitating direct visualization of a target location for implantation of the implant.

摘要: A medical device system is configured to guide implantation of a pacing electrode for left bundle branch pacing. The system includes a medical device having a processor configured to receive at least one cardiac electrical signal, determine a feature of the cardiac electrical signal, compare the feature to left bundle branch signal criteria, and determine a left bundle branch signal in response to the feature meeting the left bundle branch signal criteria. The system includes a display unit configured to generate a user feedback signal indicating advancement of a pacing electrode into a left portion of a ventricular septum in response to the processor determining the left bundle branch signal.
