Apparatus and method support the synchronization and calibration of a plurality of clocks in a medical device system that may provide treatment to a patient with a nervous system disorder. The plurality of clocks, which may be located at different components of the medical device system, comprises a first clock and a second clock. The second clock may be synchronized to a first clock by disabling a run mode operation and setting the second clock to a selected time. When a reference time of the first clock approximately equals the selected time, the second clock enables the run mode operation. Additionally, a drift time that is indicative of a time difference between the first clock and the second clock is determined. If the drift time is greater than a predetermined amount, an indication to resynchronize the first and second clocks is provided.

The invention relates to a cold and/or heat accumulator comprising a first heat exchanger and preferably a second heat exchanger. The first heat exchanger may, in particular, be provided to be perfused by a refrigerant while the second heat exchanger is preferably perfused by brine. The first heat exchanger and preferably also the second heat exchanger are engaged in a heat-exchanging relationship with carrier elements charged with a cold or heat storage medium and may, in particular, be formed by graphite strips. The cooling energy and/or heat accumulator according to the invention exhibits a good heat conduction, short charging times, a high cooling or heating performance, low pressure losses as well as a good cooling agent distribution. Further its integration options are manifold due to the selected fixation means.

In accordance with the invention a method for the manufacture of an erosion protection layer on a metallic substrate is proposed in which a material is welded onto the metallic substrate (2, 2′). The material is a steel which contains at least 0.1% carbon and at least 12% chrome. The material is applied to the substrate (2, 2′) by laser deposition welding. A component (1, 1′) is further proposed by the invention with a metallic substrate (2, 2′) and an erosion protection layer (3, 3′) applied on the substrate (2, 2′), wherein the erosion protection layer (3, 3′) is manufactured using a method in accordance with the invention.

The present invention is an attachment that fits onto the head of a wrench to magnetically hold a nut. The attachment has a magnetized surface and a side surface to friction fit onto a wrench. Fit is further improved by magnetizing the side surface. By holding the nut, the attachment allows for operation of a wrench in restrictive spaces where manual holding of the nut would be impossible or impracticable. Making side surfaces of the attachment out of plastic allows the attachment to adapt to different sizes of wrench heads. A hole in the attachment allows a bolt to pass through the attachment as it passes through the nut.
