摘要: A system may include an electrostimulator configured to provide electrostimulation to a neural target patient via electrodes on a lead, a sensing circuit configured to sense, at a plurality of sensing locations, evoked responses (ERs) to the electrostimulation, a user interface, and a controller operably connected to the electrostimulator, the sensing circuit and the user interface. The controller may be configured to deliver the electrostimulation in accordance with a stimulation setting, determine the sensed ERs to the electrostimulation delivered in accordance with a sensing setting and the stimulation setting, determine acceptance criteria using user input received via the user interface, compare the sensed ERs to the acceptance criteria to provide a comparison result, and display on the user interface an indicator of the comparison result.

摘要: Systems and methods of the present disclosure are directed to systems and methods for treating cognitive dysfunction in a subject in need thereof. The system can include a light source and a speaker. A visual neural stimulation system provides, via the light source, visual stimulation having a first value of a first parameter. An auditory neural stimulation system provides, via the speaker, audio stimulation having a second value of the second parameter. A stimuli orchestration component selects, for a first time interval, one of the visual stimulation or the audio stimulation to vary based on a policy, selects, for the first time interval, the other of the visual stimulation or the audio stimulation to keep constant based on the policy, and provides causes the one of the visual neural stimulation system or the auditory neural stimulation system to vary the one of the visual stimulation or the audio stimulation.

摘要: Methods are for determining whether a subject who does not present clinical symptoms associated with Alzheimer's disease (AD) or mild cognitive impairment (MCI) is in a process of developing AD or MCI, or at risk for developing post-anesthesia delirium or cognitive dysfunction, by detecting the presence of epileptiform spikes in the brain of the subject during diagnostic anesthesia. Additional methods are for preventing, reducing likelihood of, or treating AD or MCI, or post-anesthesia delirium or cognitive dysfunction.

摘要: This disclosure relates to methods for modifying neural activity by applying electrical current to a neural tissue, e.g., in a transcranial DC stimulation procedure (tDCS), a transcranial AC stimulation procedure (tACS), a transcranial random noise stimulation procedure (tRNS), a deep brain stimulation procedure (DBS), a transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation procedure (TENS), or the like. Historically, computed potential, electrical field, and/or current density distributions have been used to select the locations of the electrodes that apply the electrical current. In the present disclosure, a computed charge distribution on the bounding surface of one or more sulci filled with cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) is used in selecting the electrode locations. In one embodiment, the sulcus's bounding surface is divided into pixels and each pixel's charge is determined by the pixel functioning as a sensor for the charges surrounding it, including the charges of other pixels and the charges on the electrodes.

摘要: A method for providing electrical stimulation to a user, the method comprising: providing an electrical stimulation device, in communication with a controller, at a head region of the user; with the electrical stimulation device, providing a stimulation treatment having a waveform configured for neuromodulation in the user; with the controller, performing an adjustment to the stimulation treatment, wherein performing the adjustment includes: generating a transformed waveform with application of a transfer function to the waveform, wherein the transfer function scales the waveform and selectively attenuates extreme waveform values while maintaining a frequency characteristic of the waveform in the transformed waveform; and applying the transformed waveform with the electrical stimulation device, thereby modulating the stimulation treatment.

摘要: A system and method for selecting leadwire stimulation parameters includes a processor iteratively performing, for each of a plurality of values for a particular stimulation parameter, each value corresponding to a respective current field: (a) shifting the current field longitudinally and/or rotationally to a respective plurality of locations about the leadwire; and (b) for each of the respective plurality of locations, obtaining clinical effect information regarding a respective stimulation of the patient tissue produced by the respective current field at the respective location; and displaying a graph plotting the clinical effect information against values for the particular stimulation parameter and locations about the leadwire, and/or based on the obtained clinical effect information, identifying an optimal combination of a selected value for the particular stimulation parameter and selected location about the leadwire at which to perform a stimulation using the selected value.

摘要: A computer-implemented method for determining the volume of activation of neural tissue. In one embodiment, the method uses one or more parametric equations that define a volume of activation, wherein the parameters for the one or more parametric equations are given as a function of an input vector that includes stimulation parameters. After receiving input data that includes values for the stimulation parameters and defining the input vector using the input data, the input vector is applied to the function to obtain the parameters for the one or more parametric equations. The parametric equation is solved to obtain a calculated volume of activation.
