Abstract:
A paving mat for use in a paved surface includes a fibrous mat in the form of a paving mat. The fibrous mat includes a fibrous matrix containing a mixture of polymer fibers, first mineral fibers having a first median length, and second mineral fibers having a second median length that is different from the first median length. In another embodiment, the paving mat includes a fibrous mat including a fibrous matrix which is bonded together by a binder. In one embodiment, the binder is a mixture of different binders. The fibrous matrix includes a mixture of mineral fibers in an amount within a range of from 61 wt % to 85 wt % and polymer fibers in an amount within a range of from 15 wt % to 39 wt %. The polymer fibers have a melting point greater than 320° F. (160° C.). The mat has a stiffness in the machine direction within a range of from 65 g-cm to 110 g-cm. The mat has a load-elongation behavior such that when the mat is subject to tensile stress, the mat achieves at least 90% of its ultimate load at an elongation not greater than 5% of the specimen length in the direction of applied stress. Another embodiment of the paving mat is made with a carboxy-modified acrylic binder.
Abstract:
A system that detects the lack of activity during a predetermined time interval and then notifies a third party is described. A sensor provides information to a computer that monitors the level of activity in a given field of view. If no activity has occurred within a user programmed period of time, the device will automatically notify a third party and alert them to the situation.

Abstract:
A magnetic brush development station includes, a housing forming a reservoir for developer materials. A plurality of augers are located in the housing for mixing developer material. A development roller is mounted within the housing for delivering developer material from the reservoir to a development zone. The development roller includes a core magnet inside a shell, having relative rotation. The core magnet extends less than the entire length of the development roller such that a developer nap on the shell does not extend to the respective ends. A metering skive controls the quantity of developer material delivered from the reservoir. A metering skive is positioned parallel to a longitudinal axis of the development roller at a location upstream in the direction of shell rotation prior to the development zone. A magnetic seal is located in association with the skive at each end to substantially prevent leakage of developer material.
Abstract:
A magnetic brush development station for a reproduction apparatus. The magnetic brush development station includes a housing forming, at least in part, a reservoir for developer material. The reservoir has a pressure equalization seal. A mechanism is associated with the housing for readily moving the housing relative to the reproduction apparatus. Another mechanism selectively readily replenishes and/or empties at least one component of developer material with respect to the reservoir. A plurality of augers are located in the housing for mixing developer material within the reservoir. A drive for the augers, extending through the housing, has a seal therefor. A development roller, mounted within the housing, delivers developer material from the reservoir to a development zone. The development roller includes a core magnet inside a shell such that the core magnet and the shell having relative rotation. The core magnet extends less than the entire length of the development roller such that the developer nap on the shell does not extend to the end of the development roller. A metering skive, extending the length of the development roller, controls the quantity of developer material delivered from the reservoir portion of the housing to the development zone. The metering skive is positioned parallel to the longitudinal axis of the development roller at a location upstream in the direction of shell rotation prior to the development zone. Further, a magnetic seal is located in association with the skive at each end of the development roller. The magnetic field of the magnetic seal is sufficient to substantially prevent leakage of developer material from the ends of the development roller.
Abstract:
An XML system and format for managing multiple parametric objects. The preferred embodiments allow users to model complex systems of discrete parametric objects. Complex equipment systems such as overhead conveyors or automated guided vehicles can be modeled using a simple center-line path and a library of parametric XML objects. Properties may be specified for each XML object or common values may be applied to the entire system.
Abstract:
A magnetic brush development station with a housing forming a reservoir for developer material has a plurality of augers located in the housing for mixing developer material. A drive for the plurality of augers includes an assembly having a body extending through the development station housing. A plurality of bearings are positioned in the body with a spacer between the plurality of bearings. A rotatable shaft is connected between the plurality of augers and an auger drive member. A seal for the rotatable shaft has a lip formed of a material which is able to stretch sufficiently to maintain sealing contact with the shaft while the shaft is being rotated by the auger drive member.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for an interactive video game to be displayed on a video display device. The gaming apparatus includes a game controller adapted to control the outcome of a game played on the gaming machine for display on the display device. A player interface is coupled to the gaming apparatus and is configured to input information data personally identifying a player operating the gaming machine. This personal identification data, such as a players name, birthdate, digitized facial pictures of player, etc., is then integrated into the game for integral display in the game outcome on the display device. Thus, player interaction is increased by customizing the game screen presentation to include their personal information.
Abstract:
A development station for an electrostatographic reproduction apparatus wherein pigmented marking particles from a particulate material mixture of pigmented marking particles and magnetic carrier particles are utilized to develop latent image charge patterns on a dielectric member. The development station has a housing adapted to be located adjacent to a dielectric member. The housing defines a reservoir for a particulate material mixture, and an opening facing such dielectric member. A mixer for mixing particulate material, a magnetic brush for applying pigmented marking particles from such particulate material mixture to a latent image charge pattern to develop such charge pattern, and a transport for transporting such particulate material from the mixer to the magnetic brush are located within the housing. A device is provided for collecting contaminating airborne particulate material contamination. The contamination collecting device includes an elongated tube, located externally of the housing. The tube defines an opening communicating through the wall of the tube with the interior thereof. Passages are defined by the housing between the magnetic brush and the mixer, communicating with the opening of the tube, and a vacuum is supplied to the interior of the tube to substantially prevent contamination of the reproduction apparatus and its environment.
