摘要： Single instances of individual codecs are instantiated on different processing elements, and blocks of video frames are interspersed or ‘striped’ across the multiple instances. An apparatus according to the invention comprises a demultiplexer for receiving the incoming uncompressed video stream and parsing it into blocks, each containing an integer multiple of the inter-frame coding distance, and each block is alternately sent to a different processing element for compression. This allows the output compressed signal to be generated in real-time without dropping frames.

Instead of stations requesting material from a server and waiting for the data to be delivered across the network from the storage devices via the server, the storage devices are connected locally to each station. Access is arbitrated locally over a low performance (and consequently lower cost) network and access is provided directly via the storage interface.

Each process block is specialized to perform specific tasks in an assembly line manner to achieve an overall goal. For example, multiple distillation process blocks could be daisy-chained to create fuel from crude oil. Each process block is generally small enough to be mounted on a truck or a flatbed for easy transport, allowing for an assembly line of process blocks to be transported anywhere in the world with ease.

摘要： A system for cooling a data center and energy recovery includes at least one electronics cabinet having electronics, a heat exchanger tank having heat exchanger piping, and closed loop nitrogen gas piping coupling the at least one electronics cabinet to the heat exchanger piping and configured to recirculate nitrogen gas. Heated nitrogen gas from the at least one electronics cabinet enters the heat exchanger tank via the closed loop piping, which causes the liquid nitrogen to vaporize. The system also includes an engine, a generator coupled to the engine, and outlet piping coupled to a top portion of the heat exchanger tank and to the engine. Energy from the vaporized nitrogen is utilized to drive the engine, which generates rotary motion to drive the generator to produce electricity. The system includes a condenser coupled to the engine to collect the nitrogen gas exiting the engine to repeat the cycle.
