Abstract: A system for using biogases produced as a part of the wastewater treatment process is described. The gasses produced during the anaerobic treatment of wastewater are collected, conditioned, optionally compressed, and combusted in an engine designed for the combustion of biogases. Mechanical power produced by the engine is then used to directly power one or more devices used in the wastewater treatment process such as aerators, mixers, compressors, and the like.
