An anaerobic digestion device includes a digester body with an opening through which organic waste is received and a digester drum removably inserted into the digester body for receiving the organic waste. The digester drum is movable relative to the digester body to advance a slurry of the organic waste along a length of the digester body. A set of ports spaced along the digester body and arranged to vent biogas from the organic waste contained in the digester drum. A storage vessel is configured to receive and store biogas received from the digester body via the ports, and a heating system configured to heat the digester body. The heating system is fuelled by the biogas vented from the digester body.

Optionally, there may be a step of solids separation in which larger solids are removed from the digester. A process and apparatus are described for treating waste sludge from a wastewater treatment plant in an anaerobic digester. Feed sludge is thickened or solids are separated from digestate and returned to the digester. Additional co-digestion waste may be added to the digester. The process and apparatus may be used in a retrofit of an existing wastewater treatment plant.

Sludge from an anaerobic digester is treated to recover one or more of fibers, or solids or liquids with a high nutrient content. The solids or liquids can be used as a fertilizer. The fibers can be used in a plant growing medium. Solids are separated from liquids in the sludge and dried. The solids may be dried to produce a flake or pellet. Ammonia in the liquids is recovered and used to produce a concentrated acidic ammonium salt solution. This solution may be mixed with the solids to produce a nitrogen enhanced solid. The fibers and solids or liquids can also be used in combination to produce an enhanced plant growing medium. A device and process for removing ammonia from a liquid can be used in the system or separately.

An integrated mobile thermal treatment system and method is disclosed for processing organic material. In a first mode of operation, the system includes all process components necessary to thermally treat organic material to achieve cell lysing and cell formation integrated in a common skid-assembled unit. In a second mode of operation, the system additionally includes pre-slurrying, pressurization, selective solids separation, and/or post-dewatering process components to minimize feed volume by pre-slurrying, deliver feed at the necessary treatment pressure, thermally treat organic material to achieve cell lysing and cell formation integrated in a separate or common skid-assembled unit, and produce a dewatered sludge cake suitable for disposal or use as a fertilizer of fuel.

The purpose of the invention is to divert all of the city or industrial wastewater, and particularly to prevent the pathogenic elements from flowing back to the rivers or waterways. The product of the whole process will be decontaminated, transformed into fertilizer and brought to the farmlands and forests through networks of hoses. The new idea is to treat municipal and industrial organic waste and wastewater by a methanation process in floating bioreactors revolving on themselves by air ejected underneath. Various new valves, pumps, and a new model of steam engine are created for the process. The gas produced furnishes a source of heat and its pressure is used for the functioning of the whole system. All the actions of the system, mixing, heating and pumping, are self-motion, and in the end, the new steam engine activates generators that produce electricity.
