Abstract:
An improved specialty paint finish roller comprising a roller handle assembly having an axle portion, a roller tube and a naturally occurring sponge material secured around the roller tube. The sponge material is fabricated by slicing natural sponge to form flat sponge pieces, which are adhered to a base material, cut lengthwise and wound about the surface of the roller member. The elongated tube member is then cut to predetermined sizes, the resulting roller tube being joined to the roller handle assembly. The finish roller has natural sponge protrusions capable of applying paint to a surface in a positive design form.
Abstract:
A take-out leading roll, spreader roll or equivalent for a web-like material including a non-revolving roll axle having end parts and a middle part situated between the end parts, and a continuous and tubular roll mantle revolvingly journalled by bearings on the roll axle and extending over the end parts and the middle part. The middle part is pivotally linked to the end parts to enable the roll to be bent to a desired arcuate shape. The roll mantle is preferably journalled on the roll axle only in the areas of the roll ends by bearings supported on the end parts of the roll axle. The material of the roll mantle is preferably a composite material.
Abstract:
A synthetic roll shell, as well as its manufacture and utilization in press rolls, used for the purpose of measuring the pressure progression in a press nip of a machine for the production and/or conversion of a paper, cardboard, tissue or other type of fiber web. The pressure measurements are made during rotation of the press roll by at least one pressure sensor located in the synthetic material.
Abstract:
A paint roller cover includes a cylindrical core and a liquid applying medium coupled to the core. The core has an inner surface and an opposite outer surface. The core includes at least one gap between the inner surface and the outer surface.
Abstract:
A process for operating a calender roll that cooperates rotatingly with at least one other calender roll of a roll stack, at least one calender roll of the roll stack being provided with an elastic cover. The process includes operating the calender roll; and changing a mass of the calender roll during operation. Furthermore, a calender roll is provided including a roll jacket having a first and second end; a supply connection arrangement; and a mass changing device connected to the supply connection.
Abstract:
A printing medium in cylindrical form consists of a dimensionally stable solid, partly hollow or hollow cylinder and a photopolymerizable crosslinkable cylinder layer which is applied in particular in part-layers by means of a coaxial coating apparatus and on which an IR radiation-sensitive layer is applied, preferably as a single layer, by means of a coaxial coating apparatus. The result is an economically produced printing medium having uniform layer formations and layer thicknesses and the advantage of simple imagewise exposure and development and rapid use in the printing press.
Abstract:
The intermittent coating apparatus which includes a nozzle 1 which applies a paint 6 to a base material, a feeding side two-way valve 10 which repeats feeding of the paint 6 to the nozzle 1 and stop of the feeding, a return side two-way valve which 11 repeats discharge of the paint 6 to a return side and stop of the discharge, a paint flow path 12, means to feed the paint 6 into the flow path 12, and paint returning means 5 which repeats suction and return of the paint 6 out of and into the nozzle 1, and is characterized in that switching of the feeding side two-way valve 10 is carried out earlier than that of the return side two-way valve 11 within a range not shorter than 5 msec and not longer than 100 msec at least at a coating start time.
Abstract:
On a mobile rest plane, the following operate: a matrix-bearing cylinder, rotatable about an axis thereof, and at least a doctor predisposed to operate contactingly with an external surface of the matrix-bearing cylinder. A supply of glaze is directed into a chamber delimited between the doctor and a portion of external cylindrical surface of the cylinder facing the doctor, at a position in which the doctor and the surface are in contact, via a flexible conduit terminating at a discharge end thereof which is positioned superiorly of the chamber and which is commanded to perform an alternating motion. The flexible conduit is supported by an articulated chain which is commanded to slide axially in two directions along a guide.
Abstract:
Stand-up roller apparatus (20) for applying a uniform pressure to roofing membranes during installation on roofs according to the present invention comprises an elongated handle (21); a bracket (22) carried at one end of the handle; a roller assembly (23), rotatably affixed to the bracket and providing a sleeve, directly engageable with a roofing membrane being applied, wherein the dead weight of the apparatus is sufficient to join the applied roofing membrane to a mating surface on the roof without the application of additional downward force by the operator. Methods for the application of roofing membranes to prepared roofs and for seaming adjacent sheets of roofing membranes on roofs are also provided.
Abstract:
A method of aligning and duplicating alignment includes welding a washer over a larger opening in a hinge once in an aligned position relative to a vehicle door. The door is mounted into an alignment fixture and the hinges are installed over threaded studs extending from the door. The washer is placed onto the threaded stud and tightened against the hinge, covering the larger opening in the hinge. The larger opening in the hinge allows movement of the hinge relative to the door for alignment. The washer defines an opening with a smaller opening sized to provide relatively little clearance for the threaded stud, and thereby maintain alignment between the door and hinge. The washer is permanently attached by a welding operation to allow duplication of door hinge alignment during reassembly.
