摘要: The invention is directed to compositions of display cell structure and electrode protecting layers for improving the performance of display devices. The composition comprises a polar oligomeric or polymeric material having a glass transition temperature below about 100° C., and the resulting display cells or electrode protecting layer have an average crosslinking density of below about 1 crosslink point per 80 Dalton molecular weight.

摘要: Driving methods are described for display devices which have one or more dielectric layers in the path of an electric field driving the display. In an embodiment, image uniformity is improved by periodically refreshing, using an intermediate color state, pixels that remain in one color state before and after a change in displaying a first image and a second image, and by applying driving signals using voltage levels and durations that maintain a global DC balance in the display at near zero to avoid contrast reduction and image artifacts in the image.

摘要: A system and method are disclosed for reducing reverse bias in an electrophoretic display. The system and method include the application of varying levels of voltages across an array of electrophoretic display cells of the electrophoretic display to move the cells towards a stable state in a driving cycle. In addition, the system and method disconnect the voltages from the electrophoretic display cells at a time duration prior to reaching step transitions of the voltages during the driving cycle. Pre-driving approaches apply a first pre-driving voltage at a first polarity to the display cells before driving the display cells with a second driving voltage at a second, opposite polarity. Varying the time duration and amplitude of the pre-driving signals produces further beneficial reduction in reverse bias.
