Abstract:
A gas service riser assembly and ductile pipe to plastic pipe transition connection is provided. The gas service riser assembly comprises an outer ductile pipe, a plastic pipe having open ends disposed within the outer ductile pipe and extending through one end thereof, a hollow rigid stiffener disposed within the interior of a portion of the plastic pipe within the outer ductile pipe, a gasket positioned around the exterior of the plastic pipe adjacent to the stiffener, and a crimp formed in the outer ductile pipe adjacent to the stiffener and the gasket whereby the outer ductile pipe is compressed against the gasket, plastic pipe and the stiffener to form a seal.
Abstract:
A method and system for identifying a group of objects or content that have a plurality of group-wise connections, and for revealing the evolution of the state of those connections over time. A network of symbols are generated to create a symbol backbone, and raw object or content descriptions are mapped to the generated symbols. To identify the objects or content most closely and most interconnectedly related to a query object or content, the query object or content is mapped onto the symbol backbone. The raw object or content description expression set of the related symbols are retrieved, forming the group of interconnected objects or content. The retrieved object or content descriptions can be further refined.
Abstract:
A refrigerated agitator assembly is provided including a rotatable agitator shaft, first and second split hub assemblies, and a plurality of agitator tubes. The rotatable agitator shaft defines a fluid supply passage, a fluid supply port, and a fluid return port. The first split hub assembly is secured proximate a first end of the agitator shaft so as to be rotatable with the agitator shaft. The first split hub assembly defines a supply hub duct coupled to the fluid supply port and a return hub duct coupled to the fluid return port. The second split hub assembly is secured proximate a second end of the agitator shaft so as to be rotatable with the agitator shaft and defines a transfer hub duct. A first agitator tube is secured to the first and second split hub assemblies and extends from the supply hub duct of the first split hub assembly to the transfer hub duct of the second split hub assembly. A second agitator tube is secured to the first and second split hub assemblies and extends from the transfer hub duct of the second split hub assembly to the return hub duct of the first split hub assembly.
Abstract:
An exercise and rehabilitation apparatus for skiers and athletes who need to maintain good endurance, balance, coordination, and strength in their legs is disclosed which allows for movement both horizontally and vertically while jumping side to side without jarring the back, knees, tendons, and joints, etc. The apparatus is composed of two or more rebounding bodies wherein the angle of inclination with respect to the base may be adjusted.
Abstract:
A concealed antenna system (16) for a motor vehicle (10) including a first antenna element (18) mounted on a first window (20), or panel, of the vehicle and at least a second antenna element (30) mounted on a second window (19), or panel, of the vehicle. The first antenna element (18) includes a conductive line (22) and a conductive loop (26) connected to one another. The first and second antenna elements are connected to one another in series by a wire (32) between the loop (26) on the first antenna element (18) and a conductive portion of the second antenna element (30).
Abstract:
A novel trampoline at least includes: a trampoline frame; a trampoline mat operatively surrounded by the trampoline frame; and a plurality of trampoline spring members operatively coupled between the trampoline frame and the trampoline mat. Each trampoline spring member at least includes: a first spring coupler located at a first end of the spring member; a second spring coupler located at a second end of the spring member; a first spring member section coupled to the first spring coupler; a second spring member section coupled to the second spring coupler; at least a third spring member section coupled between the first spring member section and the second spring member section, the third spring member section having a spring constant greater than the spring constants of the first and second spring member sections. The effective spring constant of the spring members increases stepwise with increases in the forces transmitted by trampoline users, and overall spring member deflections are dampened with increases in the forces transmitted by trampoline users.
Abstract:
A system for assessment of irregularity in wooden material below the surface of a substrate, from above the surface of the substrate. The wooden material extending from below to above the surface of the substrate and surrounded by the substrate below the surface of the substrate. The system comprising at least one transmitter and receiver or transducer arranged to transmit energy through the material from above the surface of the substrate towards the part of the material below the surface, and to receive energy reflected from the material back through the surface, and a processor arranged to analyse the reflected energy and provide an indication of irregularity in the material below the surface of the substrate.

Abstract:
An FM signal antenna for window glass mounting in a motor vehicle includes an elongated conductor formed as a ladder to form a series of openings along its length. Preferably, the ladder is constructed of a pair of parallel conductors and cross member conductor segments coupled across the parallel connector. The cross member conductors are spaced from each other a distance substantially less than the wave length of the signals to be received. In addition, the antenna includes a raised feed point positioned along the length of the conductor. The conductor has a length substantially greater than the window area so that a fold is formed in the conductor, and an extended portion of the conductor overlapping from the fold is preferably aligned with and conductively independent of the feed point. In addition, the antenna is mounted above a heater grid comprising a plurality of transverse conductors extending between common potential conductors at either end of the grid. Preferably, equipotential line conductors extend across intermediate portions of the grid, and an equipotential line conductor is aligned with the feed point of the FM antenna.
