Abstract: Water-dispersible nanoparticles are prepared by applying a coating of a multiply amphipathic dispersant to the surface of a hydrophobic nanoparticle comprised of a semiconductive or metallic material. The multiply amphipathic dispersant has two or more hydrophobic regions and two or more hydrophilic regions, and is typically polymeric. Preferred polymeric dispersants are comprised of (1) a hydrophobic backbone with hydrophilic branches, (2) a hydrophilic backbone with hydrophobic branches, or (3) a backbone that may be either hydrophobic or hydrophilic, and substituted with both hydrophilic and hydrophobic branches. Monodisperse populations of water-dispersible nanoparticles are also provided, as are conjugates of the water-dispersible nanoparticles with affinity molecules such as peptides, oligonucleotides, and the like.

Abstract: The present invention provides a motion analysis system for measuring the relative function of one anatomical structure to another based on optical fiducial markers tracked in a series of images and in turn data, where the components of hard and soft tissue are used in analysis and where the image data can be compared in a time series such that probabilities of involvement with various tissues can be correlated to the image data. The system measures displacement at various positions and can relate the data to various muscle and other soft tissue variations within the constraints of the anatomy and physiology including motion in three dimensional space, including rotations and translations and functions including velocity and acceleration.

Abstract: In general, in one aspect, the invention relates to a system that includes memory and a prediction subsystem. The memory includes a first memgroup and a second memgroup, wherein the first memgroup comprises a first physical page and a second physical page, wherein the first physical page is a first subtype, and wherein the second physical page is a second subtype. The prediction subsystem is configured to obtain a status value indicating an amount of freed physical pages on the memory, store the status value in a sample buffer comprising a plurality of previous status values, determine, using the status value and the plurality of previous status values, a deficiency subtype state for the first subtype based on an anticipated need for the first subtype on the memory, and instruct, based on the determination, an allocation subsystem to coalesce the second physical page to the first subtype.

Abstract: System and methods are provided, which include a presentation device that presents one or more data streams of information to one or more users. Each of the data streams has one or more samples that are arranged a temporal order. A relevancy display has two or more relevance indications, and each of the relevance indications is uniquely associated with one of the samples. The relevance indications are ordered on the relevancy display in the temporal order that corresponds to the order of the samples in the data stream.

Abstract: A communication and analysis system can manage data operations with a vehicle centric system. A vehicle that is in a communications link with a network can also manage its activities based on real-time, historical and predictive knowledge, without having this knowledge processing on-board. Such data processing includes the geo-spatial, internal functions and operator specific requirements. The rule based system also incorporates the use patterns of a specific vehicle, or a specific user. A use pattern can be transferred from one operator to another or be shared to assist with navigation and operations. A vehicle operator or vehicle multiple operators can share or upload information that can assist with efficient operations, including fuel conservation and time management. Use patterns can be assigned to geospatial regions and be used for comparative analysis for such activities as efficient operation, safe travel and navigation.
