A high melting temperature meltblown web, such as a polyester meltblown web, contains a sufficient amount of condensed liquid detergent to wash a load of laundry and does not exhibit an objectionalbe sticky feel.
Abstract:
Tissue comprising a matrix of nonwoven fibers having a basis weight generally in the range of about 25 to 50 gsm. The matrix is a meltblown web having incorporated therein staple fibers. The combination provides highly-improved tissue properties as well as strength and absorbency required for many tissue applications. The tissues may be formed by a conventional meltblowing process involving extrusion of a thermoplastic polymer as a filament in air streams which draw and attenuate the filaments to fine fibers, having an average diameter of up to about 10 microns. The staple fibers may be added to the air stream, and the turbulence produced where the air streams meet results in a uniform integration of the staple fibers into the meltblown web. The matrix may contain from about 30 to about 80 weight percent polymer and have a subjective softness rating of at least about 10.
Abstract:
There has been provided a recreped absorbent product manufactured by forming a web from an aqueous stock, drying the web to a selected consistency and creping one side thereof. The creped web is then conveyed at a selected rate for drying and recreping on the same side. The web moisture consistency, draw speeds, crepe angle and nip pressures as well as crepe adhesive qualities are controlled parameters.

The layered construction utilizes high melting temperature materials in the outer layers which provide protection against melting of the less expensive, lower melting temperature inner layer when the product is exposed to abnormally high dryer temperatures.

A method for making a meltblown liquid laundry detergent sheet provides increased active detergent solids by spraying a solution of detergent enchancers of the liquid detergent formulation into the meltblown web during the formation of the meltblown web. Thereafter the balance of the liquid detergent formulation is incorporated into the web, which is then dried.
Abstract:
A method of laminating a two-ply product wherein the plies are laminated to one another and adhered to a creping surface in the same pattern. A first ply is directed about a patterned pressure and imprinting roll and laminating adhesive is applied to the first ply in a pattern corresponding to the pattern of the pressure roll. A second ply is brought into contact with the first ply, and the composite web is adhered to a creping surface with a creping adhesive at a nip formed between the creping surface and the patterned pressure roll. The composite web is creped from the creping surface in a pattern corresponding to the pattern of lamination. When creped, the densified laminated/creped portions add strength to the resulting product, while between the densified areas the webs are not adhered to one another and the void areas therebetween provide sites for water absorption. In a second embodiment, an endless fabric or belt may be directed about a smooth pressure roll, such that the knuckles of the fabric laminate the plies to one another and adhere the composite web to the creping cylinder in the same pattern.
