摘要: A method of encrypting data is described in which a random variable (6A-6D) is generated in binary digital form. A first set of data (8A-8J) representing a plaintext message in binary digital form is combined with the random variable (6A-6D) to generate a second data set (9A-9J) in binary digital form. The data bits representing the random variable (6A-6D) are inserted into the second data set (9A-9J) according to a first predetermined set of rules and the order of the data bits in the second data set (9A-9J) is altered according to a second predetermined set of rules. A third data set (17A-17N) for transmission as a ciphertext message is thus generated.

摘要: Apparatus for placing contents of a first container in fluid communication with a delivery apparatus includes an actuating element carried by the delivery apparatus and a valve element carried by the first container. At least one of the actuating element and the valve element defines a flow path from the first container to the delivery apparatus when the actuating element and the valve element are engaged with one another. The actuating element is engageable with a circular cylindrical valve of a second container to prevent flow of contents of the second container into the delivery apparatus.

摘要: A system for internally monitoring an integrated circuit, wherein the contents of memory locations in the integrated circuit can be displayed on a dedicated display unit via a graphical interface device provided in the integrated circuit. The system provides a built-in means for observing the internal state of both firmware and hardware (as applicable) on the integrated circuit device. This facilitates the development of, and ongoing health monitoring of, the device in any system into which it may be incorporated. The provision of a graphical interface device provides a relatively high bandwidth for the outgoing data and so allows the internal state of the device to be monitored in real time.

摘要: The invention relates to an improved mixing arrangement for, primarily, moving bitumen in steam from sources of such bitumen and steam to a reactor or coker for further processing of the bitumen into petroleum products. The invention provides a main conduit connected to an atomizing nozzle mounted in a wall of the reactor and first and second conduits for flowing bitumen and steam respectively into the main conduit. The first conduit is angled relative to the main conduit at an acute angle of about 45° and the second conduit is angled relative to the main conduit at an acute angle of about 30°. The second conduit is positioned upstream of the first conduit by a short distance of about 23 mm and may be angled radially relative to the first conduit by any angle, although a 90° angle is preferred. A flow accelerating nozzle is located in the second conduit adjacent the entrance therefrom into the main conduit The arrangement of the invention improves the flow characteristics of 2-phase material flowing to the atomizing nozzle, reducing pulsations in the main conduit and improving the resulting atomization of the bitumen in the reactor.

摘要: An actuator cap for a container of product includes a main peripheral wall and a central discharge member axially movable relative to the main peripheral wall. The central discharge member is oriented to discharge product substantially axially. A pillar has a peripheral surface, and the pillar is deflectable relative to the main peripheral wall in a direction toward the central discharge member. Movement of the pillar is communicated to the central discharge member to displace the central discharge member when the pillar is deflected.
