Abstract:
A structure, substrate or other article having a profiled surface comprising a plurality of profiled, in a length direction extending ridges, each ridge having a peak and on opposite sides of the peak a sloping side and an opposite, downwardly directed side, wherein the downwardly directed side comprises an undercutting part which is directed back under the peak of the ridge and wherein the undercutting part extends from a most forward point where the undercutting starts to a valley, wherein 0.1 M≦d≦0.9 M, wherein M is the distance between the most forward point of the peak and the sloping side or an imaginary extension thereof and d is the largest distance in a plane perpendicular to the length direction between the downwardly directed side and a line drawn perpendicular to the sloping side, or extension thereof, and connecting to the most forward point.
Abstract:
A heat storage unit (2) includes a body having a passage (12) formed therein through which a flowable product passes. A heatable element (10) is incorporated within the body of the heat storage unit (2) in thermal communication with the passage (12). Meanwhile, a heat-retentive material (8) is in thermal communication with the heatable element (10). The heatable element (10) includes either a magnetically-compatible material or a microwave-compatible material that is heated by locating the heatable element in a field (F) generated by a charging device (6), for example.
Abstract:
An apparatus including a replacement refill assembly for dispersing a volatile active into air. The replacement refill assembly includes a reservoir for containing a composition having a volatile active and a wick having an emanating surface from which the active may be volatized. A retainer is included in the apparatus for receiving and retaining the replacement refill assembly. A wire heating element is resiliently supported by opposing spring members so that when the refill assembly is received within the retainer, the spring members bias the heating element against the emanating surface of the wick while yielding an amount sufficient to prevent the heating element from breaking. In one embodiment, the apparatus also includes an air regulator, such as a baffle, for minimizing the flow of air across the heater element. A method and apparatus for controlling the source of power in the apparatus to periodically heat and clean the heating element is further described.
Abstract:
Apparatus for placing contents of a first container in fluid communication with a delivery apparatus includes an actuating element carried by the delivery apparatus and a valve element carried by the first container. At least one of the actuating element and the valve element defines a flow path from the first container to the delivery apparatus when the actuating element and the valve element are engaged with one another. The actuating element is engageable with a circular cylindrical valve of a second container to prevent flow of contents of the second container into the delivery apparatus.
Abstract:
Disclosed are devices for dispensing air treatment chemicals, and refill units for use therewith. Some of these devices have a well facing the heater and a transparent wall to view the use up of the air treatment chemical. Other of these devices have a refill with wells positioned in opposing directions.
Abstract:
A hybrid service terminal for use in a passive fiber optic network comprises a plurality of optical fiber connectors, each coupled to a respective optical fiber for receiving downstream optical frames from an Optical Line Terminal (OLT); a plurality of hybrid fiber/copper connectors, each of the hybrid fiber/copper connectors coupled to a respective one of the plurality of optical fiber connectors; and a plurality of electrical connectors configured to receive electrical signals from a multi-line converter module over a respective one of a plurality of electrical conductors. One of the plurality of hybrid fiber/copper connectors is configured to provide the downstream optical frames to the multi-line converter module for conversion to the electrical signals. Each of the plurality of electrical connectors is coupled to a respective one of the plurality of hybrid fiber/copper connectors for providing the electrical signals over a respective metallic drop cable coupled to a respective network terminal at a corresponding customer premise.
Abstract:
A holder for a replaceable container of product includes a wall mountable support member having a longitudinal dimension. A holding sleeve extends transversely to the longitudinal dimension a first distance from a first region of the support member. The holding sleeve defines a bulbous recess. A foot extends transversely to the longitudinal dimension a second distance from a second region of the support member. The second distance is less than the first distance. The foot is spaced from the holding sleeve.
