    摘要: A CPU (134) of a body composition measuring apparatus (100) drives a navel position indicator (118) so that it emits light. The height of a frame (114) is adjusted so that a beam of light from navel position indicator (118) irradiates the navel of a human subject. Plural sensors (106) are mounted on the frame (114), and each sensor measures a distance from the sensor to a position to be measured, whereby the abdominal width (X) of the human subject is determined. Subsequently, CPU (134) obtains measured values of weight (W) and bioelectrical impedance (Z). CPU (134) then reads an equation for calculating the visceral fat area and estimates the visceral fat area (Y) based on the measured abdominal width (X), weight (W), bioelectrical impedance (Z), and the equation.

    摘要: A current applying electrode is placed on at least one body part which is highly useful in estimating a subcutaneous fat tissue volume on the truncal abdominal circumference, the other current applying electrode is placed on a body part protruding from the trunk, a voltage measuring electrode is placed in the vicinity of the one current applying electrode on the truncal abdominal circumference, and the other voltage measuring electrode is placed on a body part protruding from the trunk which is different from the body part on which the other current applying electrode is placed, to measure the impedance of the trunk so as to acquire the subcutaneous fat tissue layer information of the trunk. A shared electrode serving as a current applying electrode out of a current applying electrode pair and a voltage measuring electrode out of a voltage measuring electrode pair and having a wide electrode area is placed on the trunk and the other current applying electrode and the other voltage measuring electrode are placed on the extremities to measure the impedance of the trunk.

    摘要: Disclosed is a body fat measuring device for measuring body fat of an animal, comprising: an individual information input unit; a bioelectric impedance input unit; a morphological measurement value input unit; an impedance-based calculation unit; a morphological measurement value-based calculation unit; and a calculation switching unit. According to the present invention said individual information input unit enters the individual information of the animal, said bioelectric impedance input unit measures and enters the bioelectric impedance of the animal, and said morphological measurement value input unit enters the morphological measurement values for the girth of body and the length of body of the animal. Furthermore, said impedance-based calculation unit calculates the body fat rate based on the bioelectric impedance, said morphological measurement value-based calculation unit calculates the body fat rate based on the morphological measurement values for the girth of body and the length of body of the animal, and said calculation switching unit checks to determine whether the resulting bioelectric impedance is proper or not and then automatically switches between said impedance-based calculation unit and said morphological measurement value-based calculation unit depending on the result of determination.

The body index apparatus (100) estimates an obesity index by calculation using the value of the ratio of the first distance to the second distance that is a distance at a predetermined measurement point, the first distance indicating the maximum width of plural distances measured at the plural measurement points.

A waist circumference calculator calculates a waist circumference of the human subject on the basis of the abdomen width value determined by the abdomen width determiner and the correlation stored in the memory. The correlation stored in the memory may be expressed by the following regression formula: Y=aX+b where “Y” is a waist circumference of a human being, “X” is an abdomen width value of a human being, and “a” and “b” are constants.
