    摘要: A machining apparatus in which the machining efficiency can be improved even if characters are machined in a printed circuit board. A coordinate transformation unit is provided for transforming central coordinates of each dot d of each character of a character string into coordinates in a machining coordinate system with which the holes will be machined. Prior to machining, based on a character string and position information of the character string described in a machining program, central coordinates of each dot of each character of the character string are transformed into coordinates in the machining coordinate system with which the holes will be machined. Each dot d is regarded as a hole and machined. The number of times of movement of a table can be thus minimized so that the machining efficiency can be improved.

    摘要: A recording and reproducing method, wherein, on recording and reproduction of a recordable DVD medium, which has a recording layer containing an organic dye on a substrate having a guide groove with wobble, wherein linear velocity conditions for CLV recording is recorded on the substrate, recording starts at a linear velocity less than a highest linear velocity at the innermost circumference; when the linear velocity is switched over to the highest linear velocity on the way, a comparison is made between an optimum recording power of Po at the highest recording velocity that is temporarily optimized by test-writing in a power measurement area at the outermost circumference and an optimum recording power of Pi at the highest linear velocity that is recorded in the substrate; in the case of Po>Pi, a value given by the formula of “(Po+Pi)/2+(Po−Pi)2Pi” is employed as a recording power with which recording starts at the highest linear velocity; and in the case of Po≦Pi, Pi is employed.

    摘要: In an optical recording method and apparatus for an optical storage medium, a recording pulse pattern having a sequence of multiple pulses is used to record one of plural kinds of marks with different lengths on the storage medium through a variable-linear-velocity recording process or a constant-angular-velocity recording process. Two or more discrete write powers are individually allocated to the respective pulses of the recording pulse pattern. Each of the write powers, allocated to the respective pulses of the recording pulse pattern, is linearly varied in proportion with a change of one of the recording linear velocity and a recording position of the storage medium. The resulting recording pulse pattern is supplied to a pickup, and the pickup emits a light beam to the storage medium in accordance with the recording pulse pattern having the linearly varied write powers allocated to the respective pulses, so that one of the plural kinds of marks is recorded on the storage medium.
