Abstract: Systems and methods of transmitting and receiving combined uplink control information (UCI) in respect of downlink assignments are provided. The UE is configured to combine certain UCI based on a property of downlink assignment, such as PDCCH ID, beam information, CORESET. The UE may also be configured to determine which UCI having the same value of the property of downlink assignment to combine. This can be based on a value-specific monitoring window or a monitoring window that is common to multiple values of the assignment property.

Abstract: Sparse reference signal-related signaling, for a wireless channel that is associated with multiple antenna ports, is communicated with a User Equipment (UE). The sparse reference signal-related signaling is consistent with a sparse signaling pattern. In an embodiment, the sparse signaling pattern includes reference signal-related signaling associated with each of the antenna ports, and has been determined based on previous reference signal-related signaling previously communicated with the UE or another UE. In another embodiment, the sparse reference signal-related signaling is consistent with a varying sparse signaling pattern that is based on previous reference signal-related signaling previously communicated with the UE or another UE.

Abstract: Corrected User Equipment (UE) positioning is based at least in part on signaling that is associated with UE inertial measurements. Such measurements are used in some embodiments to track UE locations along trajectories of UE movement and develop or obtain a model to subsequently predict UE positioning corrections based on channel estimates of a wireless channel. For example, reference signaling may be transmitted by a UE, and the UE then receives positioning corrections or corrected positioning in response to the reference signaling.

Abstract: Network equipment receives, from User Equipment (UE), information indicative of each of multiple UE locations in a wireless communication network. For each location, a respective antenna beam direction for communications between the network equipment and a UE at each location is determined. A Machine Learning (ML) module is trained using each location as an ML module input and the respective antenna beam direction for each location as an ML module output. The trained ML module is then used to provide beam predictions based on UE location. Based on the current location of a UE, one or more antenna beam directions for communications between the network equipment and the UE at the current location are obtained from the ML module. The UE location is input to the ML module, and the antenna beam direction(s) are then obtained from the ML module output(s).

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for transmit signalling to configure a UE with a UE specific root to use in generating a Zhadoff Chu (ZC) sequence for reference signal transmission. With conventional LTE, a cell specific root is used within each cell. There is a need for a more flexible association between roots and UEs that, for example, allows for multiple roots to be associated with a cell. The provided approach may help with maintaining re-use distance as networks become denser. The method provided in this embodiment improves the capabilities of automatic driving and ADAS of electric vehicles. The method can be applied to vehicle networking, such as V2X, LTE-V, V2X, etc.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for partitioning resources into resource partitions, and informing user equipments (UEs) of the resource partitions. Knowledge of the resource partitions may assist the UEs in performing joint decoding. In one embodiment, a method performed by a UE includes receiving at least one message from each base station. The at least one message provides information indicating how resources are partitioned by the base station into a respective plurality of resource partitions. The information is used to identify respective resources for each of at least two downlink transmissions. Respective data that was transmitted on each of the at least two downlink transmissions using the respective resources is jointly decoded.

Abstract: Colliding random access channel messages from multiple User Equipment (UEs) attempting to access a communication system include common access information for the multiple UEs. Responses to the messages are transmitted. A response to one UE includes UE identifier information from the common access information and responses to other UEs include new UE identifier information for each other UE. In another embodiment, a random access channel message that is received from a UE includes a dedicated random access sequence that is dedicated for use by a particular UE within a coverage area of a communication system. A determination can be made as to whether the received random access channel is received from the particular UE based on any one or more of: a set of one or more access points at which, a direction from which, and a receiving antenna beam on which the received random access channel message is received.
