    Abstract: The examples herein relate to assembly techniques and structures for an electrowetting cell, e.g. a fluid lens, a fluid prism or a single cell that may support both variable lens and variable prism functions. The resulting cell structure, for example, may support both beam shaping and steering functions, e.g. supporting use of the same electrowetting cell structure for a wider variety of optical processing applications. The resulting cell may be used in combination with an optical/electrical transducer or an array of cells may be used with a transducer in systems for a various light input and/or output applications.

    Abstract: A system including a controllable device configured to provide a premises related service in an area of a premises. The system includes an electroencephalography (EEG) device configured to be positioned with respect to a head of a user and process signals detected in real-time. The system also includes a processor in communication with the EEG device, a memory accessible by the processor and instructions stored in the memory for execution by the processor. A data is stored in the memory that associates each of a plurality of predetermined sets of signals from the brain detected via the EEG device with at least one control instruction. The execution of the instructions configures the processor to using the stored data, analyze the real-time detected signals to determine that the real-time detected signals correspond to one of the plurality of predetermined set of signals associated with the one control instruction and generate a control data signal based on the one control instruction.

    Abstract: Lighting system and method examples offer an immersive lighting environment. A multimedia interface of a receiver obtains multimedia content that includes video data, audio data and embedded lighting information. A receiver includes a processor to generate lighting commands for each of a number of luminaires based on the embedded lighting information from the multimedia content. A network interface of the receiver sends respective lighting commands to each of the luminaires, so that operations of controllable light sources of the luminaires are based on the received respective lighting commands (based on the embedded lighting information). This approach, for example, enables coordination of lighting in a venue with the output of the associated video and/or audio multimedia content. The lighting information may be scripted as part of multimedia content creation and/or created or adapted by crowd sourcing or machine learning of customer preferences.

    Abstract: A self-propelled unit for movable operation on a support structure along a first axis of movement and a second axis of movement that is transverse to the first axis of movement includes a carrier configured for movable displacement on the support structure. A first conveyor assembly is operable to move the carrier on the support structure along the first axis of movement. A second conveyor assembly is operable to move the carrier on the support structure along the second axis of movement. A light source can be attached to the carrier in an operable mode to provide illumination to an area in proximity to the carrier. At least one power contact is configured to maintain electrical contact between the carrier and the support structure.
