A region below a center of the specific gear is defined as a lower region, a part of the lower region that is located rearward of a vertical plane passing through a center axis of the specific gear in a rotation direction of the specific gear is defined as a lower rear region, and the opening may be in the lower rear region.

Abstract: A vehicular drive device includes a rotating electrical machine, transmission mechanism, case, and communication oil passage. The case includes a first housing chamber housing the rotating electrical machine and a second housing chamber housing the transmission mechanism. The communication oil passage communicates with the first and second housing chambers. The lower part of the second housing chamber forms a second oil reservoir where oil is scraped up by gear rotation. The case includes a partition wall between the first and second housing chambers axially. The communication oil passage runs under the partition wall and includes a first and second opening. The first opening opens to the first housing chamber at a first position away from the partition wall toward the first side in the axial direction. The second opening opens to the second housing chamber at a second position away from the partition wall toward the second side axially.

An area of the reservoir in a front-rear direction, an area of the first power transmission in the front-rear direction, and an area of the second power transmission in the front-rear direction overlap an area of the rotary electric machine in the front-rear direction.

Abstract: A front-wheel drive unit includes a first rotor on a first axis and a first differential input gear on a second axis located in a rear direction from the first axis along an axis in a front-rear direction. A rear-wheel drive unit includes a second rotor on a third axis and a second differential input gear on a fourth axis located in a front direction from the third axis along the axis in the front-rear direction. The first rotor is in a first width direction from a first transmission gear assembly. The second rotor is in a second width direction from a second transmission gear assembly. A wheelbase between the first axis and the second axis is equal to a wheelbase between the third axis and the fourth axis. The first rotor and the second rotor rotate in reverse directions while a vehicle is traveling.
