    Abstract: A speed reducer for a powertrain includes, in an orthogonal frame of reference: a reduction device including a first shaft extending along a first axis of rotation and coaxially carrying a first toothed wheel, and a housing with a hollow shape including a base and a peripheral wall integrally formed with the base, the peripheral wall partially surrounding the reduction device. Also included is a lubricant-receiving and -distributing collector arranged in the housing between the peripheral wall and the first axis of rotation. The lubricant-receiving and -distributing collector includes a first reservoir and a second reservoir which are arranged on either side of the first toothed wheel.

    Abstract: This invention relates to the lubrication of a wheel support 10. The wheel support 10 comprises support 10 comprises a housing 12 that includes a base portion 14 defining a cavity 16 for receiving therein at least one gear 40, and lubricant for lubricating the gear 40. Opposing first and second arm members 18.1, 18.2 extend respectively from the base portion 14. A free end of each arm member 18.1, 18.2 includes a bearing receiving formation 20.1, 20.2 for receiving therein a bearing. The wheel support 10 further comprises internal lubricant feed means 22, defined in the housing 12, and that extends internally from the base portion 14 into at least one of the arm members 18.1 or 18.2 for feeding lubricant operatively received from a lubricant supply, internally, via the base portion 14, to the bearing receiving formation 20.1 or 20.2 associated with the at least one arm member 18.1 or 18.2.

    Abstract: A passive lubrication system for lubricating components of a gearbox is provided. The passive lubrication system includes a first sump, formed in a housing of the gearbox, for holding a lubricant fluid for lubricating components of the gearbox and a second sump formed in the housing of the gearbox, the second sump for capturing lubricant fluid displaced, by rotation of the gear wheel, from the first sump, the second sump having one or more openings for directing lubricant fluid captured in the second sump to the one or more components of the single speed drive system to provide lubrication to the one or more components of the single speed drive system. The passive lubrication system also includes a channel formed in the housing of the gearbox, the channel for channeling lubricant fluid, displaced by rotation of the gear wheel, from the first sump to the second sump.

    Abstract: The disclosure provides a lubricating structure for a vehicle power transmission device that may effectively lubricate a transfer device and a differential device without increasing the amount of oil. The lubricating structure includes: a first guide wall positioned above a bearing; a second guide wall provided below an oil reservoir and extending toward a central axis of a final driven gear; and an oil catch member that receives oil guided by the second guide wall and supplies the oil to a differential device and the bearing. The oil catch member includes a first inclined part inclined so that a direction of the first guide wall is lowered, a notch formed at a position facing an opening formed in a differential case, and a groove for oil guiding that extends toward the bearing.
