Abstract: A welding helmet having a detachable and readily replaceable facepiece covering of radiant energy reflective material, the major portion of which is normally spaced away from the facepiece for ventilation of the helmet during its use. A thermally insulating material may be placed between the facepiece and helmet and/or the helmet may be formed of thermally insulating material.
