The first circuitry may be operable to process a first Downlink Control Information (DCI) format 0A transmission indicating a semi-persistent scheduling (SPS) activation. The first circuitry may also be operable to process a second DCI format 0A transmission indicating an SPS release. The second circuitry may be operable to generate one or more Uplink (UL) transmissions for an unlicensed spectrum of the wireless network after the SPS activation and before the SPS release in accordance with a configured schedule.

    Abstract: Embodiments of a User Equipment (UE), generation Node-B (gNB) and methods of communication are generally described herein. The UE may receive, from a gNB, a narrowband physical downlink control channel (NPDCCH) that indicates a number of narrowband internet-of-things (NB-IoT) downlink subframes for a downlink scheduling delay of a narrowband physical downlink shared channel (NPDSCH) in one or more radio frames configured for time-division duplexing (TDD) operation. Subframes of the one or more radio frames may include uplink subframes, NB-IoT downlink subframes for downlink NB-IoT transmissions, and downlink subframes for other downlink transmissions. The UE may determine the downlink scheduling delay based on an earliest subframe for which a count of NB-IoT downlink subframes is equal to the number of NB-IoT downlink subframes indicated in the NPDCCH.

    Abstract: Embodiments of a User Equipment (UE), generation Node-B (gNB) and methods of communication are generally described herein. The UE may receive a narrowband physical downlink control channel (NPDCCH) that includes an uplink scheduling parameter. The UE may determine an uplink scheduling delay for transmission of a narrowband physical uplink shared channel (NPUSCH) in accordance with time-division duplexing (TDD). The uplink scheduling delay may be based on a sum of a predetermined first number of subframes and a variable second number of subframes. The second number of subframes may be based on a window of variable size that starts when the first number of subframes has elapsed since reception of the NPDCCH, and ends when a number of uplink subframes has elapsed since the start of the window. The number of uplink subframes may be indicated by the uplink scheduling parameter.

    Abstract: The disclosure describes frame structure with downlink/uplink subframe configuration and channel hopping scheme for unlicensed narrowband Internet-of-Things (IoT) systems. An apparatus operable for unlicensed narrowband transmission to support IoT service is disclosed. The apparatus includes baseband circuitry to select a transmission channel within an unlicensed narrow band for downlink transmission of a discovery reference signal (DRS), and for channel hopping, to select, according to the DRS, a communication channel within the unlicensed narrow band for downlink data and uplink data. The DRS includes a primary synchronization signal (PSS), a secondary synchronization signal (SSS) and physical broadcast channel (PBCH) content. The baseband circuitry is further to demodulate a received signal received via radio frequency (RF) circuitry through the communication channel over an uplink frame, and to modulate a transmitting signal to be transmitted via the RF circuitry through the communication channel over a downlink frame.
