Abstract: Systems and methods of early termination of uplink data transmissions for a UE are described. The UE transmits capacity information that indicates that the UE supports use of an ETS. The ETS indicates successful reception by the eNB of the uplink data prior to an end of a scheduled transmission period to transmit repeated instances of the data. The UE receives a schedule for repeated transmissions of the data that is based on a coverage level of the UE, and then transmits sets of one or more repetitions. After the transmission, the UE monitors a predetermined resource whether the ETS is present or whether the ETS indicates an ACK. If the ETS indicates successful reception, the UE terminates transmission of the remaining repetitions of the data and enters a sleep mode or transmits other uplink data.

One embodiment involves receiving, at an eNB, a first uplink scheduling request from a UE, scheduling a plurality of uplink subframes on the unlicensed channel in response to the first uplink scheduling request, and initiating transmission of a first subframe to the first UE in response to the scheduling of the plurality of uplink subframes, wherein the first subframe comprises one or more downlink control indicators (DCIs) allocating the plurality of uplink subframes to the first UE.

The radio front end circuitry is configured to transmit the DL quality report to a next generation base station (gNB).

Abstract: Technology for a Next Generation NodeB (gNB) operable to communicate over an anchor channel for Unlicensed Internet of Things (U-IoT) is disclosed. Abstract: Embodiments of a User Equipment (UE), generation Node-B (gNB) and methods of communication are generally described herein. The UE may receive a narrowband physical downlink control channel (NPDCCH) that includes an uplink scheduling parameter. The UE may determine an uplink scheduling delay for transmission of a narrowband physical uplink shared channel (NPUSCH) in accordance with time-division duplexing (TDD). The uplink scheduling delay may be based on a sum of a predetermined first number of subframes and a variable second number of subframes. The second number of subframes may be based on a window of variable size that starts when the first number of subframes has elapsed since reception of the NPDCCH, and ends when a number of uplink subframes has elapsed since the start of the window. The number of uplink subframes may be indicated by the uplink scheduling parameter.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and baseband processors are provided to generate or process symbols in a synchronization subframe. In one example, a method includes selecting non-consecutive orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) symbols in a synchronization subframe. A transmitter is instructed to transmit demodulation reference symbols (DM-RS) on identical first sets of subcarriers in respective OFDM symbols of the selected non-consecutive OFDM symbols for a Physical Broadcast Channel (PBCH) using a same transmit beam, wherein a gap between two subcarriers in a respective set of the identical first sets of subcarriers is three subcarriers. The transmitter is instructed to transmit the PBCH on identical second sets of subcarriers in respective OFDM symbols in the selected non-consecutive OFDM symbols.

Based on this identification, the base station may further be able to identify a number of resource blocks (RBs) that include subcarriers occupied by enhanced narrowband control channel elements (eNCCEs).
