    Abstract: Technology for a user equipment (UE) operable for configured grant uplink (UL) transmission in new radio unlicensed (NR-U) is disclosed. The apparatus can comprise one or more processors. The one or more processors can be configured to select, at the UE, a hybrid automatic repeat request process identifier (HARQ process ID) from a set of HARQ IDs. The one or more processors can be configured to insert the HARQ process ID into uplink control information (UCI) on a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH). The one or more processors can be configured to encode, at the UE, the UCI for transmission to a next generation node B (gNB) via a configured grant uplink transmission using the HARQ process ID.

    Abstract: Methods and apparatus are disclosed for a UE and its serving base station in 5G NR systems to signal channel scan or channel sensing to allow channel occupancy time (COT) sharing before transmissions. The COT sharing may be initiated by the base station or by the UE by asserting a CCA indication to enable channel sensing by a UE or base station, respectively. When the UE receives and decodes the asserted CCA indication during downlink transmission, the UE may perform channel sensing during a short interframe space (SIFS) between the downlink transmission and a scheduled uplink transmission. When the UE detects that the sensed RF energy across an intended transmission band is greater than an energy detect threshold, the UE may refrain from transmitting during the scheduled uplink transmission. Otherwise or when the CCA indication is de-asserted, the UE may transmit during the scheduled uplink transmission without performing channel sensing.

    Abstract: A network device such as an evolved NodeB (eNB) or next generation NodeB (gNB) can configure a set of user equipment (UE) for cell reference signal (CRS) muting in order to provide better channel quality and power efficiency in communications. Where an eNB mutes CRS transmissions that are not needed by any UE, an improvement in downlink throughput and reduce connection drop rate can be generated. A CRS muting capability can be determined based on a user equipment (UE) capability information. According to the CRS muting capability of a UE, the CRS can be transmitted at frequency locations based on CRS muting configuration parameters.
