A method of annealing of steel sheets is provided which includes a first step consisting in fully oxidizing the surface of such steel sheet thus creating a fully oxided surface layer, a second step consisting in selectively oxidizing elements other than iron of such steel, in an area extending under said fully oxided layer, thus creating a selectively oxided internal layer and a third step consisting in fully reducing said fully oxided surface layer.

A method is provided. The method includes providing a steel substrate having two faces coated by dipping the substrate in a bath, altering layers of magnesium oxide or magnesium hydroxide formed on the outer surfaces of the metal coatings by applying mechanical forces, rinsing and drying the outer surfaces, applying a conversion solution on the outer surfaces and painting the outer surfaces of the metal coatings. A metal sheet is also provided.

A steel sheet containing manganese from 3.0 to 6.0% in weight which has both a good coatability by liquid zinc and a good LME resistance. The present invention also aims to make available an easy to implement method to obtain the steel sheet and an assembly which does not have LME issues after spot-welding.
