Abstract: A method of controlling oxygen vacancy concentration in a semiconducting metal oxide includes exposing a treated surface of a crystalline metal oxide to water at a temperature and pressure sufficient to maintain the water in a liquid phase. During the exposure, a portion of the water is adsorbed onto the treated surface and dissociates into atomic oxygen and hydrogen. The atomic oxygen is injected into and diffuses through the crystalline metal oxide, forming isolated oxygen interstitials and oxygen defect complexes. The isolated oxygen interstitials replace oxygen vacancies in the crystalline metal oxide.

Abstract: Provided herein is a process for the pretreatment of workpieces having a surface of aluminum or aluminum alloys for noncutting forming and/or joining by welding or adhesive bonding to similarly pretreated, precoated workpieces, or to optionally precoated parts. The parts are composed of steel, galvanized steel, and/or alloy-galvanized steel. Further provided herein is a subsequent permanent corrosion-protecting treatment by phosphating, by means of a chromium-free conversion treatment, by application of primer, or by surface coating, where the workpieces are a) pickled by means of an aqueous, acidic solution comprising mineral acid by dipping or spraying, b) rinsed with water, and c) brought into contact with an aqueous, acidic, chromium-free solution including Zr as complex fluoride and Mo as molybdate by application by dipping or spraying. After subsequent drying, a layer weight from 2 to 15 mg/m2 of Zr and Mo is formed.

Abstract: Provided are an insulation coating composition for an oriented electrical steel sheet, an oriented electrical steel sheet having an insulation coating formed on the surface thereof by using the same, and a manufacturing method thereof, and specifically, it is possible to provide an insulation coating composition for an oriented electrical steel sheet, including 0.1 to 7 wt % of hollow nanoparticles, 0.1 to 5 wt % of ceramic nanofibers, 0.1 to 5 wt % of mesoporous nanoparticles, 30 to 60 wt % of colloidal silica nanoparticles, and 30 to 60 wt % of phosphate, and to provide an oriented electrical steel sheet including an insulation coating produced by the composition on the surface of the oriented electrical steel sheet, including 0.005 to 0.05 wt % of any one element selected from boron (B), vanadium (V), or a combination thereof, 2.6 to 4.3 wt % of silicon (Si), 0.020 to 0.040 wt % of aluminum (Al), 0.01 to 0.20 wt % of manganese (Mn), in which the balance is composed of Fe and other inevitable impurities, and a manufacturing method thereof.
