Abstract:
Aspects describe using a Policy Access Gateway that can facilitate scalability within a communication network and that can provide a solution to deploy an enhanced policy gateway. The Policy Access Gateway can enhance standard defined Diameter Routing Agent (DRA) functions with session binding mechanisms. Further, the Policy Access Gateway is scalable and can be deployed in a very large network that supports hundreds of millions of users. Further, the Policy Access Gateway can provide additional policy information to enable policy information consolidation and caching capabilities.
Abstract:
Facilitating flexible maximum transmission unit packet core design in a communications network is provided herein. A system can comprise a processor and a memory that stores executable instructions that, when executed by the processor, facilitate performance of operations. The operations can comprise receiving a first transmission unit setting from a first network device. The first transmission unit setting can indicate a size of a largest network layer protocol data unit that is able to be communicated in a single network transaction by the first network device. The operations can also comprise setting, at the device, a configuration of the first network device to the first transmission unit setting. Further, the operations can comprise sending first communication packets to the first network device using the first transmission unit setting and second communication packets to a second network device using a second transmission unit setting different from the first transmission unit setting.
Abstract:
A network aware data driven Internet of things (IoT) service engine is presented herein. A method can comprise receiving a policy rule from a network device of respective network devices—the policy rule corresponding to a sensor of a group of sensors that have been configured to transmit information of respective services to the respective network devices using an Internet protocol, and the policy rule defining an action to be performed by the system in response to a behavior of the sensor being determined to satisfy a defined condition specified by the policy rule with respect to a service of the respective services; based on the policy rule, monitoring the behavior of the sensor; and in response to determining that the behavior of the sensor satisfies the defined condition, performing the action on behalf of the network device.

Abstract:
Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a method that includes providing, by a processing system including a processor, a controller function for a user plane function (UPF) of a communication network; the controller function facilitates automated procedures for authentication, deployment, configuration, testing, and/or controlling availability of the UPF, independent of a source of the UPF. The method also includes providing, by the processing system, an interface to facilitate communication between the controller function and the UPF; the controller function uses the interface to facilitate the procedures. Other embodiments are disclosed.

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, receiving, from an application server, a data transfer request associated with delivery of data from the application server to a wireless communication device that is connected to a mobile communication network, determining a priority score for the data transfer request associated with the wireless communication device according to status information in a subscription profile associated with the wireless communication device, comparing the priority score for the data transfer request associated with the wireless communication device to a plurality of priority scores associated with a plurality of data transfer requests associated with deliver of data to a plurality of wireless communication devices that are connected to the mobile communication network to generate a transfer order mapping of a set of requests comprising the data transfer request and the plurality of data transfer requests, and transferring the data from the application server to the wireless communication device according to the transfer order mapping of the set of requests. Other embodiments are disclosed.
