    Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a method in which a processing system authenticates a communication device roaming from a home network that does not support Voice over Long Term Evolution (VoLTE) roaming, and in which the processing system communicates with a packet gateway (PGW) of an evolved packet core (EPC) separate from the processing system, to facilitate communication between the communication device and a subsystem of the EPC; the subsystem emulates the home network to provide a VoLTE roaming service to the communication device. The communication device also engages in a session initiation protocol (SIP) with the subsystem to initiate a communication session with the subsystem; in accordance with the communication session, the subsystem provides the VoLTE roaming service to the communication device. Other embodiments are disclosed.

    Abstract: Facilitating flexible maximum transmission unit packet core design in a communications network is provided herein. A system can comprise a processor and a memory that stores executable instructions that, when executed by the processor, facilitate performance of operations. The operations can comprise receiving a first transmission unit setting from a first network device. The first transmission unit setting can indicate a size of a largest network layer protocol data unit that is able to be communicated in a single network transaction by the first network device. The operations can also comprise setting, at the device, a configuration of the first network device to the first transmission unit setting. Further, the operations can comprise sending first communication packets to the first network device using the first transmission unit setting and second communication packets to a second network device using a second transmission unit setting different from the first transmission unit setting.

    Abstract: Systems and methods for selectively disabling encryption for user equipment are disclosed. A technique comprises interrogating a location code of a device authenticated to a network through an encrypted connection and determining whether the location code corresponds to an unencrypted region. If the location code does not correspond to an unencrypted region, the technique comprises registering the device to the network for communication using the encrypted connection. If the location code corresponds to an unencrypted region, the technique comprises sending an intercept challenge to the device to re-authenticate the device to the network, the intercept challenge including parameters to establish an unencrypted connection, receiving re-registration information including unencrypted location information from the device using the unencrypted connection, and registering the device to the network using the unencrypted connection.
