Abstract: The method comprises deforming the end of the wire as by heating it above the melting point with a laser beam and permitting it to solidify into a sphere to raise the vaporization point of the end. The wire is placed into contact with the component and the wire and the component are heated by a laser beam to provide a fusion weld.
